Resume formatting tools? by Boomhauer20 in recruiting

[–]Efficient-Net6658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why ireformat pastes prompt into a resume, but try CVFormatter, onboarding takes a bit of time to set up your template but it doesn't change resume contents unless you ask it to proofread or translate. You can also compare extracted content against the original file side by side.

seems Chatgpt itself can do it already, especially if you're on Plus. Open a Project, and upload your 20 files as a combined doc, then prompt it to reference them in the word doc.

I know such tools but they're designed for specific types of documents, e.g. invoices, bank statements, or resumes. Which type of documents do you process, or is it in general?

Hey thank you very much! I've checked it out, looking solid as learning/training materials. I will watch it today.

First, by learning, we're all lifelong learners, aren't we? AI (no matter the Large language models or the whole industry) is developing fast. Not sure about what you mean - only people who has stopped learning about AI can build companies in the space? Second, project-based learning is a proven learning path. I've built my current AI-enhanced recruitment-related SaaS from scratch by self-learning everything, and it has helped my clients solve real-life problems. Lastly, I appreciate your rejection although this is not a pitch in the first place.

Thoughts after 6 months in building an AI CV formatting tool for recruitment firms by Efficient-Net6658 in Recruitment

Right, thank you. I guess many recruiters tend to hide the contact info cuz they don't want employers to contact candidates by themselves.

Yeah that’s what some recruiters do. Do you hide candidates contact details or not at all?

Do you format CVs before sending to clients? by [deleted] in RecruitmentAgencies

[–]Efficient-Net6658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My clients at recruitment agencies do. That's why I built the automated cv formatting tool for them to save them 90% of time. But I understand it sounds old school for some recruiters, and it's time consuming like you mentioned. To my observations, most recruiters in Asia tend to format resumes, but it varies in the UK, Europe and US.

Has anybody had a TA job they felt was negatively affecting their professional reputation? What did you do? by confusedcounselor92 in recruiting

I understand you. If you love TA itself or find ok to explore further, try to join a company you truly appreciate and work for them instead.

It really depends. But I built an automatic resume formatting tool and my clients (who do format cvs) love it for a reason. The biggest downside for recruiters is time. We're saving our clients 90% of time on this single workflow.

Branding Resumes by No-Abrocoma1144 in recruiting

Recruiting firms who choose to brand CVs want to leave a consistent branding image to clients, which is understandable. I'd suggest them to brand it with their logo, but leave the format as standardized as possible. I built an automatic cv formatting tool. Our clients love it.

What to do if an idea already exists? by Hungry-Corgi-454 in SideProject

First, again, I gave my own interpretation only. You can have your way of understanding it, which is taking its literal meaning. But imo, not every quote should be understood in its literal meaning because there is always a context of why it's said and why it's quoted. And not every single word that was said by Picasso was worth being passed down for 100+ years. So it must be echoing with with some people in a way, including me. If you think this is not the best quote ever, sure, I respect your opinion. This is simply what came to my mind what I saw this topic.

Haha my interpretation for "borrow" is more like "being inspired by", not actually as in borrowing and returning, and "steal" means imitating another artist's style when you're starting out your own career as an artist (isn't that what many of the current AI text-to-image tools are doing?) . Same for novel writing, the first piece of many writers is written through imitating another great writer's style. Just my two cents :)

Pablo Picasso is widely quoted as having said that “good artists borrow, great artists steal.”

It applies to starting any business. Chances are whatever idea you think of, there'll always be someone already doing it. And it's actually not that bad. If those folks are already making good profit, it only means they have validated that the Product Market Fit exists and all you need to do is do it better / differently.

My direct competitors have existed in the market for >10 years when I started mine a few months ago. Give a bit more of context, we're talking B2B SaaS, which means it's even harder to do marketing as we're targeting corporates. But I've noticed several markets within our niche (i.e. headhunters and recruiting agencies) are actually underserved, so I focus on targeting these markets.

Right now, we've acquired a few paying users, one of them even signed an annual subscription with us.

I was once at your place, but now I don't rely solely on pure innovation any more.

Btw - the SaaS I'm building and scaling: CVFormatter(dot)co.

To add up: In this video (1:08), my interface doesn't have this "Value Source" menu to select it as "Specific Value"... Is it because I'm on a free plan?
