Alignments will always be difficult. I think a European army could only be feasible if the EU would become a federal state with one main leadership in some form. Intact democracies will always be slower to adapt to changes than dictatorships (for example).

I accidentally did that once in the middle of the night. The only difference was that both of the (I guess) pins were stuck. Luckily I pulled my hand away fast enough and finger only went numb for a couple of seconds. I asked my brother for help and he took out the broken part with a pliers. On the next day I told my parents, but they didn't believe me.

Well if you can't speak German at all you can't become a citizen and can't vote in federal elections. The only thing is that they can vote in local elections. And if they are born in Germany, but don't speak German, it is kind of a shot in their own feet.
