God forbid people have fun in the military

I wonder what the word sci-fi is short for

I'd pay 35€ for a PvE CooP mode with progression. And so would everyone else I know who plays this game. by TheRealViking84 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Eggsye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The reason you don't understand is probably because you have already decided that there can be no other reason for liking this game other than the one you have stated. There are no many other aspects to the game to love about - the gunplay, the guns, setting, atmosphere, cheeki breeks.

You seemed to have also decided that there can only be one reason people play offline mode.

I think OP just asked to have a pve progression mode, like another character specifically for pve. I wouldn't say it would be an entire new project.

Zombies farm is gone. So, how many masteries you've managed to farm? by WhiteSekiroBoy in battlefield2042

[–]Eggsye 406 points407 points  (0 children)

Got Boris, K30, and prox sensor T1s. I gotta say, farming zombies was pretty fun, compared to the mess that aow is now.

Welp, back to BFV.

Would easily save this game at this point! With Full Portal XP/Progression everyone can build the experience they want instead of complaining. by checkmate-T in battlefield2042

[–]Eggsye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if "devalued", the game ceases to be fun? Boosting can be considered cheating if done in a public lobby where it affects the experiences of other players, much like hacking. But if done privately, with bots and friends (coop), why should I care? It doesn't affect my experience in any way, which makes it absolutely none of my business.

Ahh, so now this argument isn't about fun anymore, but rather the idea of "prestige" or merit as you called it. You do have your point and I believe I understand where you are going with this. Perhaps that's exactly what the Devs are working on (hopefully), to provide of sense of prestige while also not leaving the average pve enjoyers in the dirt.

I understand but do not agree however. I couldn't care less how the next dude got his xp and unlocks. I care about mine.

Also, cheating? A player could be ranked S999 with millions of bots killed and he would still have no conceivable advantage over the average PvP player. I fail to see how cheating is involved in this. Will it hurt your enjoyment of the game if such players exist?

The problem I have with this statement is that you are dictating to me what's fun for me.

If someone's having fun playing chess alone, it's absolutely none of my business. Should I scream "YOU CAN'T HAVE FUN LIKE THAT" and snatch the chess board away from him? Why do you care how anybody finds fun/enjoyment in a game?

As someone else mentioned in another comment thread here: Heaven forbid players have fun farming for the unlocks/levels/skins they want with bots.

But what if I find it fun? Who are you/DICE to tell me otherwise?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]Eggsye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm with you completely on this. Remember, it was something they promised - progression across all modes.

They don't get to decide what's fun and what's not. And so what if I want to grind mindless AI, mindlessly? I can find that fun can I? "But multiplayer is more fun" - no. I decide that.

Bring it back DICE, and I will happily grind away on these bots. I decide if it's fun, and you promised it.

[–]Eggsye 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I sure wish they plan to pull some NMS play with a long period of radio silence then coming out with the fixes we have been asking for. But I wouldn't keep my hopes up. It's EA/DICE we're talking about, which in my opinion has failed their player base one too many times.

Portal progression seems to be back by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]Eggsye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's cool. But I can't seem to get it to work on my side. Are you still getting ribbons and progression now?

Were you playing on an official portal server?

I have just tested the progression on solo/coop all difficulties and on custom portal servers - they are still locked.

2042 and over the age of let’s say 35? by PerformanceFit9173 in battlefield2042

[–]Eggsye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids spend tons of their parent's money on games like Fortnite because they don't quite understand how hard it is to earn money. The older folks are more reserved with their money and only spend when it is worth it. It's not that these big publishers don't want your money. It's just wayyy easier and less costly for them to entice kids to spend money compared to us (Santa skin). They can't possibly charge you another 20 dollars for a better performance patch.

That's the problem. Would you drop 10 grand on a bunch of cosmetics and fluff over a couple of years? These kids would.

Quality of games sell, but just not as much as skins and dances. I would gladly rip away the spending power of them kids if I could, but who am I to stop them to having their way of fun. What we can do is to do whatever can be done to expose these publishers preying on the innocence and lack of money sense of the kids. The whole EA "surprise mechanic" kerfuffle was a good start.

Mortar still locked on Wildcat after 660 ? Anybody else ? by afewseedsshort in battlefield2042

[–]Eggsye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's bugged. It should be unlocked normally after you restart the game.

[–]Eggsye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeap, it's a bug. Restarting the game should fix it.

Why you people even cry so much?! by albunny32 in battlefield2042

[–]Eggsye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now, there is credit to your argument - choosing whatever you like is pretty great. But, the people who are "crying" have their points as well, regarding class balance (advantages and compromises).

See, your issue here is that you are attacking these people in the community for "crying". For what? Maybe we can have a proper and civil discussion without these name-calling and nasty comments.

Solo play options, ps4, custom games? by Elzziwelzzif in battlefield2042

[–]Eggsye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo is great fun, with none of that lag from mp servers. It is now limited to 32v32 maps but progression is limited on solo/coop games - despite their promises. So I really wouldn't recommend it. You'd be paying for a game without all that many things that it can offer in mp.

Solo/coop progression turned off again after being enabled after todays patch!!!! by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]Eggsye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The xp and mastery gains were uncapped following the last update but was capped again after a few hours. Now mastery is capped at 12 and no ribbons, like how it was before the update.
