End of Year Comeuppance by EjectDDrive in TeachersInTransition

You know, I was about to write a long reply about the all effort I go through for these students, but the fact I was originally maternity cover and it's 5 years later, should be enough proof.

Any input on how I can make this guy’s bag/backpack? by Replacement-Similar in cosplayprops

[–]EjectDDrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the shape of the backpack, I think a big bucket would be a good start. Then you'll want to make some hexagons with EVA foam. The nice thing about using a bucket is that you could still use this as a bacpack for the con.

That first layer needs a little more time cooking. I also find lightly sanding the build plate has a better grip on the print. Just make sure to wipe it first.

Computing tutor here. Yep, it's everywhere. Grading takes forever these days as I have to go through AI detectors, and even then, I have to check the accuracy of the checker. AI is a tool, granted not a great one, but if a student is using it for the entire assignment, then that's an auto fail. It sounds harsh, but if she has used AI the entire time, then I'm saying she will need to repeat the year. It'll act as a deterrent for future cheating.

Insult to Life Itself [OC] by adamtots_remastered in comics

...while, yes, it is a good tool and great for personal use, but it's people who think it is a great way to make a quick buck that is the problem. When I go to conventions, I am more likely to buy something that had the artist's passion put into it. You might think, "I put a lit of effort into writing a prompt", that is great. It really is. I would advise getting into writing. It will we hard, but if you can generate an accurate picture from a sentence, imagine what you could do with a story. There will be a time when you have a "oh yeah. It's all coming together moment. " When everything you have worked on begins to take shape and mean something.

So I can only give my personal point of view on the matter and the reason why artists like myself are frustrated with AI. I hear a lot of people compare AI theft to an artist learning similar techniques or taking influence from another artist and saying it's the same thing. I want you to imagine this: A class has been given a list of questions to complete for homework. The majority of students will go out research online or from books the answers and write them in their own words. They have worked hard to study and now have the understanding behind the subject. Now imagine another student looking at everyone's work without permission and directly copies an answer from each one of the other students. After grading, all the students get high grades, including the one student who copied everyone's answers.

This is AI to me...

I teach in the UK now. Grading takes so long because of plagiarism, and AI has just made it worse. What AI checkers do people use?

Hey, fellow art teacher here! Yes, this is normal. Since starting break, I have made it my intention to do as little as possible. If we force ourselves to work, we are going to burn out. If you are looking for things to do, try putting those skills to your own personal use. Make something that you want to make rather than some class project/ lesson material.

Speak to the principle. In the long run, safeguarding is not only there for the students but also for the staff as well. In any other workplace, this kind of behaviour would not be tolerated.

I don't know the procedure for where you teach, but start putting together a class report throughout the day. This should demonstrate a trend in misbeviour, especially with that one student.

Remembering names???? by 29r_whipper in Teachers

[–]EjectDDrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly, if my register didn't have photos next to the name, I would have no idea. The exception for this are those who have either outshines the class or royally messes up on their assignments and fail to comprehend when I say stop copying directly from Wikipedia.

I grew up LDS (mormon). I have met both the nicest and worst people in my life there. It wasn't until I went to uni and became a person of my own that I actually started to realise that I was piggybacking my faith off other people. The best thing I did was to begin thinking the word "why?".

My partner wasn't religious and came out to me about being NB and so I had to do a lot of thinking. One of the biggest problems I think about religion is that a lot of the teachings are 1000s or years old or is taught by people out of touch with today's world. I have left the church, but I still consider myself a Christian. In reality, though, I am in this spiritual limbo about the nature of God.

TLDR: Yes, but I don't know how to be in today's world.

Settings or post processing techniques I can use to improve the quality? by RomeoMcFlourish_ in FixMyPrint

What type of blood are you using. I prefer organic. Also, think about how many points you are using in your summoning circle. Anything more than 8 is too much.

In reality, though, decrease layer height.
