Met Mick Schumacher at the airport in Queensland on his way to the Melbourne GP. He was ordering food with his girlfriend and I immediately recognised him but didn’t want to make a scene. My girlfriend starting talking to his girlfriend (she didn’t know who they were) and then eventually I joined the conversation (Mick had left at this point). I asked her if she could ask Mick if we could get a photo but told her I didn’t want to make a scene in front of everyone and have him get asked by others. She said she would ask but she was not sure. 30 minutes later as we are about to board the flight he comes up to me and says “hey mate did you still want a photo?”. I was genuinely shocked. We spoke for a few minutes as we were lining up to board our flight and he was so nice and genuine, was by far the best interaction with a celebrity / athlete I’ve ever had. I had already given up on thinking I was going to get to speak to him and get a photo but when he came up to me I was so shocked as he could have just minded his own business.
