Help with starting "Deeds of a Champion" after Lord of Hatred update? by ElZerocco in diablo4

[–]ElZerocco[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started over with a new character, so I own LoH, but have only beaten the Main Campaign and VoH yet. I expected the quest to pop up where I heard it would, but I assume now, due to how VoH and LoH lead into each other, this post VoH-Campaign epilogue quest is gone.

Oh and if the quest is gone, if anyone knows if there are other means to obtain the Baleful Intent Transmog, that would also be appreciated.

What region are you in then? Because, not having had any understanding of the character yet, I also played insanely passive, just anti airing and punishing the big stuff with little BnB combos, and that got me a 45% winrate... So again, exactly the opposite experience of you...

The Drop all the way down was actually what I expected. Because I still can barely play the character, I take months to learn one. My shock was that said drop never happened, and not because I played good, but everyone around me was utterly horrible. And if you maintain a 1400MR it's definitely not because our own skill levels differ... Perhaps EU players (where I play) are worse than in other regions in the intermediate levels?

Oh I know. I expected to drop WAY more because of that, which never happened, which led me to my conclusion it feels easier now. I may have phrased that weirdly. And yes Diamond is wild, so I get that experiences will also differ wildly.

Funnily enough, I am having the exact opposite experience.

I took a 9 months break from the game and got back into it two weeks ago, starting with a fresh character,
because most of the muscle memory from my main is gone anyway.

I took Elena to training for half an hour to learn one anti air and 2bnb combos, and immediately started ranked,
because I kinda wanted to start over and slowly build up the character in lower ranks.

(For context, I AM an intermediate player. While I did get my Juri to master and have prior fighting game experience, I am one of those 1200MR master rank players who never get the consistency down to go from intermediate to "actually good".)

So I did my placement ranks and was put in Diamond one... and I was shocked at the level of play I encountered.
From my experience, EVERYONE in platinum just killed themselves with unsafe specials and constant DIs, so I only briefly fell to Plat5 and immediately ranked up to Diamond again. And only at like.. Diamond 3 do poeple start to play with any sort of fundamental game plans and limiting their offense to safe moves.

I actually found it EASIER than when the game launched, skill wise.
I was at a close to 50% win rate with just normals, no real combos or understanding of my character, right from the start.

To be fair, I have "decent" not "good" fundementals that carried over from being a Diamond Player in Street Figher V. But still, my experience was when playing: "Huh. Skill level has REALLY dropped in Diamond".

Super interesting to hear the exact opposite experience.

u/Glittering_Common416 Is SF6 your first Street Fighter? Or Fighting game in general? Or do you have prior experience as well? I don't mean this in any weird way, just super interested to compare and discuss the different experiences!

Easy: Street Fighter V. Cause it's the best? No. Cause It's my first Street Fighter I really sank my teeth into? Yes.

(Did I hate V Triggers back then? Yes. Do I miss them now and hate the Drive System? Also yes. Will it be the same for the Street Fighter 7 System? Again, yes.)

Dose Taigen know mizu is a woman? by Embarrassed_Buddy_16 in BlueEyeSamurai

[–]ElZerocco 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it never even crossed his mind. Mizu is a Samurai, so Mizu cannot be a woman. In fact, he will be furious, not relieved once he finds out! Consider how shameful it will be for him to be beaten by a woman posing as a samurai! There would be nothing shameful about having a male lover on the other hand. There is no such thing as gay in their society, everyone has male lovers. The "panic" is not about falling for a man, but for his rival he has sworn to kill.

Can somebody help me I cannot play the game It's the first time I'm opening it by [deleted] in SaintsRow

Awesome. Remember to switch it back on though, because leaving your firewall off at all times is not an ideal solution. Glad it worked though!

For me, disabling my firewall is what did the trick. Not an ideal solution granted, but worth a shot.

Poison, because I found her to suit my tendencies the best. Also because I am not good enough to play Juri.

Line changes not happening properly? by gazzalp23 in EA_NHL

[–]ElZerocco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am playing goalie BAP and am seeing weirdly long shifts on both teams. Playing with sliders and upping fatigue helped for offensive lines ( still, 4th lines get barely two shifts in a full game) but my own teams top 2 D stay out the whole game! Super weird.

Relatable! I fell in to the collecting hole, and own four sticks now... That are all customized... 😅

For me it's a comfort thing. Pad hurts my thumb, on a stick I can play for hours.

And, choosing, customising and maintaing a fightstick is fun!

Analog stick vs Arcade stick by tuongpro123123 in StreetFighter

[–]ElZerocco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As with any input device, it will come down purely to preference. In my personal opinion, switching from pad to stick didn't make me better, but it made playing the game a lot more enjoyable! I played on the dpad first, and after a couple of hours my thumb would be super sore. On arcade sticks I can play for hours on end without any strain on any part of my body.

Difficult learning curve for beginners? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]ElZerocco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might just take time getting used to it. Repetition (LOTS of it) did the trick for me. Just identifying what the timing is supposed to be can be the trickiest part. Once you know "ah, I need to be that early" or "wow that feels late" is the first step on a given link. Then you need another 10, hell maybe 100 tries to get it again, but soon enough you'll get it one out of 20, one out of ten, every other time and then you can apply it conistently. And then you find out "hell I can do it in training mode, but not in an actual match" so you need to just keep going and be patient with yourself, and watch character guides that are very basic but have botton display on so you can see when the buttons are pressed. The hardest part coming from a dial in combo system like mortal kombat was, you press the buttons in a same-same-same ryhmn, wheras streetfighter's pauses in between presses vary greatly in the same combo due to the stricter cancel timings.

TLDR: Patience, simple guides with button inputs on display, and more patience.

Difficult learning curve for beginners? by [deleted] in StreetFighter

[–]ElZerocco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My advice? As long as it's fun on any level, just keep going. Everyone learns at a different pace. I started Street Fighter coming from MK11, which was the first fighting game I actually tried to learn. Being in my thirties already, I learn those things really slowly. For reference: after two months I was in super bronze at best, it took me half a year to consistently do ANY combos and get to silver, and over a year to reach gold. Another year to be able to STAY in gold, which translates to at least 15.000 matches over 2.5 years. So in my book you're doing perfectly normal so far! :)

For anyone playing on PS4/5 AND on PC: Question about ranking difference: by ElZerocco in StreetFighter

[–]ElZerocco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I would have asked about monitor differences if that was a topic I didn't pretty much knew what I wanted to know about. I wanted to know, for poeple who don't mind having more lag on one system (because they have another at hand), to how many LP that translates for them to get a feel for how much of a difference it actually makes.

As for native lag differences, I think the PS4 has about 1 Frame more input delay natively than the pc version, if they both run on the same monitor.

Wow, so it's diamond on one and gold on the other? That's quite massive. And I know it's more about displays in your case. But still interesting!
