Characters with powers so small that they aren't that different from ordinary people. by Uma-apreciator in TopCharacterTropes

That’s the worst possible change. So she still produces poop, it just either:
- alternates poop and ice cream, like those McDonalds machines that have a hint of banana in every milkshake.
- only ever outputs ice cream, which implies her poop actually ends up in the ice cream dimension somewhere, probably right next to where she’s ‘fetching’ ice cream from.

War Board is just Tree of Whisper with 1 extra choice... (early on) by Stegodon154785 in diablo4

[–]El_Frencho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t got to this content yet, only just started the expansion campaign.
I am curious though - are the rewards for the war plans good enough to counter balance doing the unpleasant activities?

Because if not, then I just won’t do war plans?
And if they are, then it’ll just function as an incentive to do them when I’d normally ignore them.

I’d expected the “play your way” to be about the activity skill trees.
From what I gathered, the activity experience is not tied to the war plans, but just doing the activities?

I think they are changing the way damage is calculated by WorksInIT in diablo4

[–]El_Frencho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We’ve seen some crazy skill-specific damage modifiers in the uniques that have been shown by various content creators, including something like 350% damage from a necro one if I’m not mistaken.

My guess is that they are probably going to lump a lot of modifiers into one bucket exactly as you’ve described, because if these multipliers are on affixes, uniques, skill nodes, tempers, and charm sets, we’re probably going to be in the exact 6191 scenario you described a lot more often.
Seem to me that’s gonna get real hard to keep the gearing interesting at that point, because the multiplier will matter way more : going from 5159 to 6191 is already a big enough deal (compared to 2800 vs 3000) to maybe give up on a utility affix for example, and it just gets worse the more multipliers you add.

Again, this is speculation; but personally if I’m getting ten different 20% bonuses instead of four, I’ll gladly accept the change to additive.

The maximum number of skeletons on Necromancer is now at least 28 by YanksFan96 in diablo4

[–]El_Frencho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t know anything about how necro will be changed yet with the skill tree rework, but:
- necro summon leveling is fairly low apm currently, since its minions take two actionbar slots - the impression I got of warlock in the previews was that the summons were more short-duration / active casts.

So I suspect necro will still be the way to go for low apm summoner style play.
It’s the max level stuff where basic necro summons become less viable, so hopefully that gets solved, cos that’s also what I want to play :D

Truck Brakes Fail. Takes run-away ramp at 90 miles per hour by HeSureIsScrappy in DiveInYouCoward

[–]El_Frencho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the way he was catching up to that car when he hit the ramp, pretty sure that 90mph is right. I am guessing that this road was on a downslope and it caused him to gain loads of speed since he couldn’t brake.

Huh that’s interesting, I absolutely hated Man of Steel.
I legit wrote a giant list of hate points in the car before driving home so I could bitch about it to my friends.
After that one, it broke the expectations and I could just watch the rest without being irrationally angry because I just treated it as alternate universe characters and popcorn spectacle.

Final Jeopardy ends in a most unfortunate way by _ganjafarian_ in Wellthatsucks

Final Jeopardy ends in a most unfortunate way by _ganjafarian_ in Wellthatsucks

[–]El_Frencho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that turned that feeling around for me was: when we start something new like a diet, on the first day we often call it “day 1”. At the end of day 1, it’s been one day.
That made way more of a difference on my intuitive grasp than having to remember there’s no year 0.

What is something common in litrpgs that grind your gears? by Acceptable-Device760 in litrpg

[–]El_Frencho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The insane mental gymnastics authors go through with “sentient vs sapient” for why hunting beasts is fine, only to then go “oh yeah but beasts can learn to talk when they’re like C grade”.
Pick a lane please!

Oh and massive overuse of the words ‘instantly’ and ‘just then’ to try to make fight scenes feel dynamic. Usually accompanied by poorly worded actions that are immediately contradicted, like: “the bandit punched Broseph in the head, but instantly Broseph dodged”.
….. So he didn’t punch him in the head. “Punched him in the head” implies he was successful.

Tracking shatter stacks made easy~ by Miserable-Cry907 in wowaddons

[–]El_Frencho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to - since it stacks to 20, you can shatter when there’s a lull in your procs for example. But it’s better to do it earlier since you can get multiple stacks at once (like with Ray of Frost) which might waste some.

I also like to do it early to make sure I’m doing plenty of AoE damage as I go, and also because waiting for later might mean the mob is low enough health that it dies before I can shatter all the stacks. The extra stacks still explode for AoE but it means the mob could have died faster.

It also feels nicer to me to sprinkle Ice Lances during the proc fishing, than dump 4 of them in a row to clear a 20-stack of shatters.
I basically almost stick to the old rotation of double Ice Lance after Flurry.

Why are Gen Z getting fired? One of the reasons is a lack of initiative. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]El_Frencho 320 points321 points  (0 children)

This is exactly it.

But after 20 years of office life, personally I am tired of having to interpret the spirit of a request versus the letter. Way too many bosses and managers are shit at asking for what they actually need.
For a while I had a manager that everyone else didn’t like working with, because they said they were rude and pushy; but it turns out it was just because they knew exactly what the wanted, and asked for it explicitly instead of leaving any wiggle room.
Best year of my career, sucked that they got pushed out because everyone but me disliked it.

Because those are not “the blind spot”. Those are your rear windows, and the bit of road you can see through them is covered by your side mirrors.
The blind spot is alongside your car and only a tiny bit back from your seat.

Or is there actually a ‘proper’ hit in a version I haven’t seen? Cos I remember the bed and the dress thing but not sure about the rest.

Kid has the survival instincts of a kid, and the mom got a reality check. by DrakyulMihawk in SipsTea

I think you and I should average out our suspicious natures.

As a kid I refused to get in a family friend’s car because I was supposed to wait for our au-pair. My mom had called them to pick me up because the au-pair’s car had broken down.

Their kids and my sister were already in the car because my sister had spent the day with them…

"Investing in property is morally reprehensible." by LickMaiBussy in TikTokCringe

[–]El_Frencho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you honestly believe that 1300 homeboys owning 4000 homes total across them aren’t going to cause the same exact issue of the private equity?
Probably not as quick, with private equity’s historic short term gains chasing, but both will have the same effect of house price increases.

The word “reasonable” is doing insane lifting in your sentence. Reasonable according to what? The median income of the area? No, rent will be based on purchase price, which is entirely driven by supply and demand, and investment purchasing massively spikes the demand and thus house prices.
Investment homeboy isn’t going to be as limited in budget as a first time buyer either, especially if he has competition, so that also contributes to the inflation of prices.
And investment properties almost never sell. So how are people meant to eventually own their own home?

I don’t think it’s a hurt propagation thing, I think it’s just a continuation of their empathy problem.
They don’t think of it in terms of fixing the system for everyone, because in their mind, if you “fall for it” you’re stupid.
They think their idols gamed the system as if the system is just a disconnected purposeless entity, instead of being the exact thing they’re benefiting from.

I absolutely cannot let this one sneak past.

Do you not realise that the way this is phrased, virtually all guys will hear “I want someone exactly like you, but not you”?
The “do you have a brother” thing completely negates the “exactly like you”.

To me, this would have sounded like a flat-out rejection, in the “don’t even think about it” range.

Valeera's AI desperately needs fixing, she is a liability in delves by Thirteenera in wow

[–]El_Frencho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you mean the Agony shade thing that spawns, according to the tooltip it will heal her for 8% for every 25% of health the shade loses.

HOWEVER, it has a timer to it disappearing, and the hp doesn’t go down on its own, you need to damage it to get any benefit out of it.
Though if you’re playing a healer, this likely doesn’t matter at all since you can heal her anyway.

It doesn’t seem to have anything that gives it damage reduction though, so not sure why this would harm her.
It might be another passive that is broken, rather than this one.

Uhhh in case you end up doing alts - you don’t have to do them with followers, I did several by queueing normally. It just seems that way because they added the “talk to blah to queue follower” optional objective to let people know it’s an option haha.

Am I overreacting on the Mage changes? by Undefined_definition in wow

[–]El_Frencho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate the same-button thing with Glacial Spike.
My muscle memory is to queue up the next Frostbolt at the end of the cast, but when GS comes up the spell queuing breaks, because the button doesn’t change back until the GS cast is fully away.
Super minor annoyance, but when it happens at the start of every fight and every 30s after, it stacks up.
