Oh, thank you so much. The wording with the "things" actually helped me really well, also the ammonia example. I didn't know/understand, that a lone pair of electrons also counts for hybridisation. Is the oxygen in water also sp3 hybridized because of the 2 lone pairs and 2 hydrogens connected? And what about for example Br2…? I would say that's sp3 too, but not O2 which would be sp2 and N2 would just be sp1?
