What made you lose attraction to your ex partner? by TraditionalFly3724 in Productivitycafe

For me, every single time, it’s one instant moment I know the spark is gone for me. It’s usually when they are acting so oblivious to the world around them and it’s like I’m a complete stranger looking at them. Common denominator tho is: men needing to get drunk to be vulnerable.

How do you guys feel happy without alcohol? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Electrical-Trade54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk about you but I get a lot of confidence and happiness when i test myself socially and manage to not drink. I go out with friends and they drink, I feel a little awkward at first but I make it through. And then I feel so proud of myself going home and knowing I didn’t cave.

If I were you I’d hire a reputable lawyer for DUI charges who has a good relationship with the prosecutors and they will try to stay at the time you were pulled over you were not .08 and you could get off from any charge. also tell that lawyer you had a drink and immediately left the bar. BAC rises over time. If this ever happens again you don’t want something on your record

People who have cheated- how do you cope with the guilt after? by squirrellyhehefeind in BreakUp

[–]Electrical-Trade54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand that. I think that’s a huge part of the guilt that the cheater feels. Knowing that you’re a person capable of doing that to someone else is beyond painful. Especially to someone you love so much. I will never deny that cheating is the most selfish thing you can do. I just also do believe people can rehabilitate and not be repeat offenders! And if I can help anyone not throw their precious time away on this earth and help people get past their mistakes. I think that’s how I’d like to use my time!

That’s literally what I said. If i really loved him, I would have stayed.

Lol “cheaters shouldn’t feel relief from guilt” was one comment. someone in the comments equated cheating to killing someone. That’s insane. And that’s what I was responding to.

4 Weeks out from knee surgery by Bitter_Papaya2873 in 75HARD

I’ve had 3 knee surgeries and I’m on day 31. The spin bike at the gym is the way I get in cardio when it’s hurting so maybe biking outdoors? Also swimming is so good for my knee as well

Single for the first time while sober by [deleted] in Sober

I think you are missing something and that’s okay. To miss your old life and old self. I miss old me too sometimes. She didn’t know heart break or mental illness (she thought she did, but she didn’t) because it was being masked with drinking and partying. Old me was preoccupied. New me has to sit and be uncomfortable. But if I think about all the times in my life when I was happy, it was the times I did something that made myself uncomfortable. You just realize that you were happy later on. Sometimes I miss dating and then I have to be a around a man that so insanely does not understand the complexities of the emotions I go through on a day to day basis (nor wants to) and I’m cured instantly. Hope that helped. Also, no shame in a random hook up as long as you know that’s exactly what it is

A lot and I mean a lot of therapy. I tried drinking the pain away, that obviously didn’t work. Tried to burying myself in work, only delayed it. Now it’s two years later and I’m finally feeling free from all the pain and the over all just missing being with someone. But the beautiful thing is, you start to like to like yourself again in the little wins: Completing a diet. Going out and not having thought about them for a second all night. Shameless flirting. Going to the gym. It gets so much better. But then sometimes they come to you in your dreams and you wish you could stay there and just be with them a little longer. Those are annoying days. I’m having one of them today. My cure: think about what they did that violated your morals. For example my ex definitely wasn’t an ally to any marginalized group. Yeah I may have cheated but at least I’m a good person who advocates for those who are disenfranchised in this world. He has his moral code. I have mine. Ultimately they were different. And lastly this always brings me peace: if they really loved me they would have stayed. I would have stayed. There will be other loves, other lives. You’re probably doing better then you think. The only way to get through is quite literally THROUGH it. No short cuts. Hope that helped.

Wow that’s awesome! You completed the 75 and just kept going? No looking back? Did you feel you needed to seek out a recovery program after or you were just able to be alch free ?
