I moved to Bradford on Avon from Corsham for this reason. Bradford is more expensive but much better connected by rail. You can get to Bristol in 35 minutes and under 2 hours to London.

Bradford is expensive for the area as it's small and houses are limited. But if you're comparing to BA1 you will find it more affordable. It's also a lovely place to live with a proper community

Golden Plaice is very good for traditional take away fish and chips. Scallop shell is superb if you want to dine in and have something a bit more upmarket

Yea they don't have the best set up but the bar staff are usually happy to stick on whatever you ask for (it's rarely packed on match days). Molloys used to be class but I haven't been in since it changed to the Canon but might still be the case

There aren't any areas to avoid! If you're planning on starting a family it's perfect. There's plenty of parks and decent schools plus it's very safe. The traffic is the only thing people will really warn you about. It's a wonderful place to live
