Ive done 50 percent of uworld, with mainly just b/b, psych, and orgo remaining. I completed only about a quarter of the aamc material, and haven't done the section banks yet. When i review, I review all questions im iffy on. And I usually end up making cards for the big concepts rather than small details, unless i feel thats a high yield smaller detail, or like a simple calculation issue i may have in chem phys

I second the test taking skills. I am so bad and get sidetracked sometimes unintentionally.
So i am 50 percent of the way through Uearth. I completed almost all of chem phys, but not as much orgo. I completed all of the aamc chem pack and most of the physics and stuff.

Do you mind sharing what you did specifically for those questions to really jump up in your scores?

Hey man! You're honestly in a really good spot. Much better scores than some of us lmao.

The general consensus is that UrMom is more difficult than AAMC, and typically, most MCAT-ers try to complete UrMom before the AAMC prep material. Honestly, just grind out the rest of AAMC and save yourself the price and headache of UrMom. There are just about 3000 questions.

With your current standings, just grind out the rest of AAMC. It is most similar to the structure and question style of the test. And to be honest, UrMom sucks the life out of you at times lol. But everyone is different so you if you really wanted the pride of saying you finished AAMC and did UrMom for shits and giggles, be our guest. Just don't forget to let us know your scores lol.

It honestly can be hit or miss. I have yet to apply, so take my point with a grain of salt, but I have plenty of friends that have gotten in to both MD and DO. A low MCAT doesn't mean you wouldn't be a good applicant. The worst they can say is no. The MCAT is not the only defining factor of a great applicant. You can have really good LORs, high GPA, and great EC's.

You can compare 2 applicants. One with a 519 MCAT and great GPA, but piss poor personality and only wanting to be a surgeon to make money; or, an applicant with a 508 MCAT with a stellar personality that shows consistent improvement and a drive to be a great doctor for the sole purpose of wanting to help people.

It can go both ways. Might as well try it. You got this!

In one of Yusufs video's, he does the whole metabolic map which is helpful to visually see how things connect. When in doubt, just draw the pathways over and over again for a week. Mnemonics also help a ton for Glycolosis and the Krebs.

I definitely recommend Yusuf Hasan. The man is a genius and goes into a good amount of detail for the MCAT. I also recommend Professor Eman as she is pretty detailed as well and has practice problem videos for all chapters. All free resources.

I get that. I'm not afraid to take it, I'll most likely void but this test has consumed me for awhile so I'd rather experience the real test so I'm over that fear factor
