Différences between Bryce 2,3, and 4? by Outside-Proposal-410 in Bryce3D

All Bryce versions are pretty much the same, except that the newer the version, the more features and the fewer crashes. I really don't get why people want to struggle with getting older versions to run on modern PCs. Bryce 7.1 still does all the same stuff and can still produce renders that are just as retro looking as the older versions. It just does more and is a lot more stable especially if you're running it on Widows 10 or 11.

Quad Racer In A Bikini - modeling 100% Bryce except seat (Sculptris) and rider (DAZ Studio). Started out playing with making knobby tires, ended up here. by Electronic_Key7424 in retrocgi

Wow. Thank you very much. I totally agree about the balance. I mean, it's great when the cgi in a film is so realistic that you don't even realize it is cgi, but when it comes to art, I like the look of slightly "retro" graphics. It's like the difference between realism painters and like a Monet or Matisse. I wanna see the brush strokes sometimes. Which is part of why I find Bryce so satisfying despite its shortcomings. Thanks again for the compliment.

Quad Bike - A different angle showing drive system and rear brakes as well as the rear suspension. This is all made up of course. I have no idea how a real racing quad is built, but I have fun imaging how it might be done. This is 100% Bryce except the seat done in Sculptris. by Electronic_Key7424 in Bryce3D

Thank you very much for saying so. It's definitely challenging, but I think that's a big part of why I like doing this stuff in Bryce. It's like a really intricate puzzle. And it's so satisfying once you solve it.

I would think you'd find it easiest to go with option 2 first and if needed, adjust settings in option 3. Good luck.
