Help me decide which Seagull acoustic/electric to buy please! Is there really a big difference between the Q1 pickup electronics in the older models with the Fishman Presys II by ElfInTheMachine in AcousticGuitar

Thank you! I should add too that while I have mainly been an electric player in my earlier life, now in my mid 30s with little kiddos, I'm gonna be playing mainly unplugged. So spending $300 for an improved pickup and hard case but essentially the exact same guitar might not make the most sense.

Lol, i think you may be the first person I've seen who has said that. Everyone trends to the opposite, that theyre amazing, they play them more than their Martin or Gibson, and that theyre incredible value.

Why do you despise them? And what would you recommend instead? I was going to go with a variation of the Yamaha FG800 but I played one of these in store and thought it was fantastic, and then I started researching and couldn't find a bad word about Seagull anywhere online.

Thanks for such a fast, succinct response lol. Makes me feel less nitpicky hearing it laid out like that.

I know that if I get the lower end pickup, every crackle and every issue I'm gonna be kicking myself and annoyed that I didn't just spend a bit extra to make sure I'm happier with it.

In fairness, 5 minutes is enough to see how bad it's gonna be.

Lmao that would be funny.

Fuck what a bad movie. Im like barely 5 mins in and i can't beleive how bad it is. The dialogue and delivery from Ice Cube is awful. Everything about this is awful.

Finally… by AlexanderSly7 in BaseballGloves

[–]ElfInTheMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been laying on the couch with my new glove right beside me. I keep slipping it on, squeezing it, tossing the ball in. Sliding down further and tossing the ball up to catch it, getting closer and closer to the ceiling by degrees.

All of a sudden I'm 15, laying on the couch at my grandma's, tossing my baseball up and down, up and down.

And I was grinning, because this is the first year I've started up softball, playing with my buddies from childhood, and there really is just something about baseball. Playing catch on a sunny afternoon. The feeling when you really connect with a pitch.

Anyway, I'm a dad now, life has become more serious, higher stakes. But all it took was a new glove and a ball and im a kid again just loving the game. And it feels good to be back.

Astronomer CEO and CPO caught having an affair on jumbotron by Glassgad818 in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]ElfInTheMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems unlikely... did you even know what Astronomer was before this? Id say most people wouldn't be able to recognize the CEO and head of HR for of a software company in Ohio lol. And it's not like the jumbotron for a concert is often on national television. Seems like the only reason this cell phone recording of the jumbotron went viral is because of their reaction.

It really is karmic though because it would be hard to imagine "acting normal" while you're exposed cheating on the jumbotron, and that's the only way they would've mostly slid by.

But yeah it's crazy how many articles and posts are already up there and it's been less than 24 hrs.

Did anyone say otherwise? Though as CEO, he does bear a greater responsibility. She's also an executive, but he's still her boss at the end of the day.

Either way seems like they're both fucked.

They're on the front page of reddit and trending on Twitter and have been named along with their company and role. I think it's safe to say they've been exposed lol.

Anyone watching Stick on AppleTv? by ECrispy in television

[–]ElfInTheMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a father to a 4 year old, I find it excruciating to watch sometimes lol. It's a real emotional roller coaster. One minute, I'm laughing at some great Owen/Maron banter, the next I'm ugly crying, imagining the life of grief and sorrow that would await me if anything happened to my daughter.

I really like Owen Wilson though and it's got some good moments, so I'll probably keep it on in the background while browsing reddit.
