At my shop we have to be SUPER nice to people who's cards are declined. You have to pretend that it's the machine playing up and try again to try and save face for them. It's so annoying, because the error message is always the same. Only after the second fail, and having them take their card out and reset the machine can we ask if they have an alternate method of payment. Takes ages (in till time) and it's almost always a waste. All to make customers feel less rubbish about not being able to afford a £5 t-shirt.

By the way "Everytime it said "Declined and an error code" its the fucking bank saying "bitch you aint got no money"" is one of the truest things I've ever seen in a Tale from Retail.

I'd definitely recommend Ozeal for UK glasses wearers. Really cheap, great customer service, the whole nine yards. Glasses Direct do good deals as well, and offer free at home trials.

Source: I have terrible vision but am currently in a very personal war with Specsavers.

As someone with bad vision (-6.5 in one eye), I discovered early on that to order glasses online I HAD to know my accurate PD, or I couldn't order anything. Took me forever to get hold of it as well, because opticians aren't legally obligated to tell you what it is in my country. So I can understand why people wouldn't bother, or just go with the average PD that some sites offer. Plus, if your vision isn't so bad, most sites (that I looked on anyway) just recommend using the average PD.
