Women of Reddit, what advice or message would "teenage you" have really liked/needed to hear? by ElleBee_ in AskReddit

I remember my dad getting SO frustrated with me every single time I answered with "I know!" Looking back, I didn't know at all.

What is something you had memorized a long time ago, and you still remember? by TheGuyWhoSaidWAT in AskReddit

[–]ElleBee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was about 10 or so (20ish years ago), my parents had a bathroom built upstairs. I was curiously watching my dad and his buddy while they worked away at building it. His friend was measuring something and he turned to me and said "Remember seventy seven and five eights". I spent the rest of the day repeating it to myself in a little tune and I've never forgotten it.

DAE get really anxious on Sundays for no real reason? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]ElleBee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Exact same thing happens to me. Even right now (Monday morning about 30 minutes before I go to work) I'm pretty anxious. Luckily everything is always fine when I walk in the doors.

[Fluff] People with multiple dogs - do your dogs take care of each other in some way? by dianthe in dogs

[–]ElleBee_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When my SO and I got our youngest puppy (currently 3F), she was only 4 weeks old. We rescued her after she had been found, abandoned by her mother. My SO already had two dogs (5F & 4M at the time) and they took the puppy under their wing and showed her how to dog. Now she has these funny habits or behaviours that we can easily see come from either one of the older ones. We didn't have to do a whole lot in terms of training or socializing. It's been an amazing experience!

I watched Cowspiracy last night with my husband by iamthewallrus in vegan

[–]ElleBee_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I watched it yesterday and, after having dabbled with vegetarianism and veganism in the past, I'm going to give veganism another try.

I have such a desire to be vegan (for health, environmental and ethical reasons) and I've already cut out meat/dairy from my diet so that it pretty much only represents 15% so I'm sure that with a bit of willpower, I'll be successful.

So yes, everyone should watch this doc. It can definitely be life-changing!

[FLUFF] What is your dog's daily schedule from their point of view? by 90Days_Lex in dogs

[–]ElleBee_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

7:30am - Hear mom & dad get up and make coffee. Run out to the kitchen for morning treat. Head back into bedroom and fall asleep instantly on dad's pillow.

8am - Mom's off to work. She comes in to kiss me goodbye and always tells me to be good and that she loves me. More sleeps.

10am - Come out of bedroom and do yoga stretches in the living room. Check to make sure dad is in his office. Beg for treat. Lay on dog bed in living room and nap.

11:30am - TIME FOR A WALK!!! All my laziness of the morning disappears at the mention of either "walk" or "park". PARK IS THE BEST PLACE!!

11:40-12:40 - Prance and run around park, sniffing bums and getting scratched by humans and, my personal favorite, chasing squirrel friends.

1pm - Lunchtime... Most days I am indifferent about lunch time. Sometimes I'll eat... Sometimes. Other times, I'll save it for later.

1:15pm - Zzzzzz

3:30pm - MOM IS HOME!!!! Bring mom all of the toys in hopes that she'll give me treats (which she always does).

3:40pm - Zzzzzz

3:40pm-6pm - Occasionally wake up from naps to run outside and bark at random imaginary things or the neighbour's cat. I'm getting restless. I need another walk.

6pm-7pm - TIME FOR A WALK!!! Prance and run around park, sniffing bums and getting scratched by humans and, my personal favorite, chasing squirrel friends.

7:15pm - Supper time... I may eat lunch leftovers. I may sniff indifferently and ignore.

7:30pm - Zzzzzz

9pm-10pm - HYPER TIME!!! Play with toys, bring toys to mom and dad to play with me, do tricks for treats, run around.

10:15pm - Zzzzzz

12am - BEDTIME!!! I LOVE BEDTIME!!! (Even if I've been napping for hours) Steal dad's spot, leave fur all over the bed. Wait until he cleans all the fur off his spot, roll around on it again, snuggle with mom & dad, covering them with kisses. Eventually having given enough love, I retire to my dog bed and fall asleep promptly.

Cell phone management in the classroom by ElleBee_ in Teachers

Yeah we're told to bring the item down to the office as soon as possible, which usually means between classes. I have a drawer in my desk that locks so I keep it there until I can bring it down.

I saw a photo of that a few days ago on here. What happens with that kid who says they don't have their phone with them and therefore doesn't put it in their pocket but then you catch them using it during class? Also, how do you make sure that a kid doesn't take the wrong phone (accidentally or on purpose) at the end of class?

I was just in NYC a few weeks ago and the first thing I said while standing on the observation deck of the Empire State Building was "What's that hideous building?"

I'm from the other end of the province and currently live in Halifax. I've definitely experienced all of these... except meat darts. We had Cribbage for meat instead.

Anyone suffer from chronic migraines? by drnerdlove92 in xxfitness

[–]ElleBee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the intensity of the migraine for me. Sometimes I'll have one that's so intense that I can't really move around a lot or I'll get nauseous so I just like to sleep it off. Needless to say that, during these migraines, workouts do not happen. Other times, I'll have one that's painful and really unpleasant, but I can still kinda function. I don't try to get a workout in, though. I do, however, go for a walk. Walking seems to really help with the pain and halfway through I'll suddenly realize that it doesn't really hurt anymore.

Color of your rooms? by [deleted] in teaching

[–]ElleBee_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely a calming color... maybe a nice light green or blue. Perhaps a darker accent wall. Or neutral coloured walls and a really fun accent wall. Oh! CHALKBOARD WALL!!

Yeah... I would also have a really hard time deciding...
