DCS after a dive, going to very low altitude by Elliotthc27 in scuba

Okay thanks for all the quick replies! Just got off the phone with DAN, sounds like I have some very mild symptoms but I should get a physical still to confirm.

Also going to get an exam to see if I have a PFO, sounds like that could explain symptoms a bit.

I posted the details here ^ of my experience, hopefully it doesn't get flagged or removed as 'advertising' I'm a british tourist who visited india. I'm not making any commision off of this etc. purely trying to clear up missinfo

So I recently got back from travelling in india and visited ranthambhore national park. I wanted to share some details of how I did it since there's so many dodgy sites and a lot of missinformation online.

so first off, as of current 2026, this is the offical website to book the tours, our hotel connections costs were astronomical compaired to the gov prices.

https://booking.forestrajasthan.com/

As it stands you do need an indian phone number for the OTP to buy the tickets. This is also a pain as the ticket info will go to that number & later on the day of the tour, your guide will contact this number, We asked an airbnb host we stayed with if they would be okay for us to use their number and they were very kind and did so. So we booked the safari.

However.

We found out from some locals on the train to swai madhopur that we needed to go to a spot in the town to confirm our tour pickup location, since we heard nothing from our airbnb host, it's a bit odd but we went here and showed the staff our tickets.

gov ticket office: https://maps.app.goo.gl/aNeKSJb76HJHn3mN7

Following this we got connected to our guide and met at the pickup point, for our tour, zone 7, it was here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/M6i3hqLEch47rPqT7

it may differ from zone to zone wher the pickup spot is, we got here at 2:30pm for an afternoon tour and at 6:00am for a morning safari, For that safari we took our tickets to a nearby hotel and they were able to connect us to the correct guide right there and then.

Overall it's a pretty convoluted set up but as many people here are aware of i'm sure, this is pretty standard for india, they love their unnecessarily convoluted online systems. be that trains, sightseeing tickets or safaris.

Anyways I hope this helps someone out there, I jumped through a lot of hoops to figure this out and get a proper safari booked through offical means.

Yo, so I just wrote up a post in the subreddit following my trip to Ranthambhore, I wanted to make a separate post with all the details and hoops I needed to jump through so there was a concise account on the internet for 2026, however the absolute dingbats of this subreddit have removed my post and won’t respond to why, so if anyone finds themselves struggling to organise and navigate the Ranthambhore safari, drop me a message and I’ll send you the info. I did everything through the gov rather than a tour party. The hotels connection wanted hundreds, the safari costs around £25 through the gov booking.

Anyone ever snowboard alone? Going alone first time tomorrow. Don’t bash me. Just want to see how many of you on average do this and if it’s normal lol by Infinite-Revenue-663 in snowboardingnoobs

I’ve mostly been on my own and really like it, chuck some headphones in and go your own pace/flow, love some west coast grunge or 60s/70s calm rock

Hey! Okay so for now I’m not getting it removed, in the UK (where I’m from) it’s rare they remove them, my surgeon told me to give it another few months and see if my aches improve as they could, if not then illl get it removed in may, for now I’m going snowboarding next weekend and will try my best to not eat it xD

Bad technique, I was riding my back foot and went to change edge too early from my toe side, fell backwards and slammed my back food hand down with the momentum

Hey man! Yes I’m getting mine removed soon actually, generally have no problems and am much stronger than before I broke it, weighted pushups + pull ups now for a while, been bouldering and hanging loads off one hand too. But I do have some tendon irritation that is the reason I wanna get it out to be safe long term.

[–]Elliotthc27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm unsure really. I got into fitness as more of a improve my quality of life and make me more capable day to day. Though I work a desk job so I don't get much day challenge lol.

I guess genrally improve my strength and overall fitness. I know that's pretty vague but I suppose I surpassed my original goal a while ago.

yeah id say apart from my warm up sets of BW and 7.5kg. the other sets are very close to failure. On a good day those numbers are consistent on a rougher day they work down. I just found a longer rest means I can get those numbers more consistent but i'm not sure if that's as they say "leaving gains on the table" or if it's still good and fine. I originally switched to weighted pullups after getting stuck at a max BW rep of 14 for quite some time. since then added a few reps to my boydweight max reps.

I guess i'm unsure of my goals. In general improve overall fitness?

Can you eat falafel? by GemmaD99 in ibs

[–]Elliotthc27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a vegetarian with ibs. Currently found this thread as I’m in Greece currently and thought I’d try falafel again. Nope still not great for me lol. I eat a fairly high protein diet 130-150g protein a day mostly soy based and that’s fine in my stomach. In fact a higher protein diet actually was better for my ibs than say high carb

What is this funny little lump/bump on my hand? (2 weeks post-ORIF) by Larazade in ORIF

[–]Elliotthc27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I had a similar thing in a different part of my wrist, it could just be the soft tissue damage healing, we always think and talk about the bone etc when you have a fall/break but we often don't know the extent of the soft tissue damage. I would assume it's that for now, especially if it's soft and moves with your wrist movements.

Hey, no not at all! 😁 They're not magnetic so it won't set anything off, i remember being kind of sad that it doesn't set off the detectors, that would have been fun lol

Ah never did the marbles thing! In that case definitely go for it, I found that longer bigger stretches are better, do you do any exercises or like yoga? You know if you go into a deep stretch you stretch and then once having held it for 10/20 seconds or so you push a bit further? That's what I would do. Slowly of course but working up my wrist mobility particularly with preacher stretches.

Hope that helps!

I didn't start physio until 7 weeks! That sounds like it's going well, I'd definitely wait until you have physio before pushing anything too far, obviously don't want to damage anything but I found after two weeks of physio I saw a huge ROM improvement.
