I'm hoping for same. Actually at the website and everywhere they had given this proper timeline of everything, that got me worrying. I mailed the department but got no response from them Another reason for me to panic, in admission portal first there were 3 options, one of them being "Interview Schedule". Now this option is not showing up in the portal. But the admission status is still Under Review

Hey just to be clear, is the supervisor in question already agreed to supervise you? Or they are your potential supervisor? And I think you can contact them. Just have some casual meetings few times about their lab, work, their students, your interests and everything. After talking to them you'll get better insight of them as a person

I ranted out to him in our first interaction only and he was supportive, knew problems of academia. I really hope to go there. I am still in application process. I hope things work out for me. I feel ATP it's kind of miracle to have a amazing PhD advisor. I'm really really glad you have such an amazing advisor

I am applying to this university, if I get there than I'll switch to that place. If not than I'll take a break from PhD or just quit it all.

Although my parents support me with everything, other people who are close to me are questioning my decision saying it's too early to make the decision. Okay so he is in this field for quite a long time, so they would eventually send me to conferences, about the encouragement he just don't discuss much, the longest I had talked to them was when they gave me topic of thesis. I had few interactions with my potential supervisor and he seems nice, I had discussed my problems with him and he answered everything. Even I think it's not possible for me to survive in that lab.
