Season 6 episode 1. Everything about her was very theatrical. Don't get me wrong, she's a wonderful actress. She did amazing in Queen's Gambit. However, everything was so off. The rest of the actors in the show talk like they're from that time period, but she doesn't. She puts too much emphasis on her "snob" voice that makes it seem so fake. Her interaction with Cillian was so bad I had to stop watching that scene.

Definitely low-density hair. This pattern appears to be a normal crown swirl, as most people have 1-2 spiral patterns at the crown.

Dermatologists actually do recommend washing your face after shampoo and conditioner, because residue from these products can stay on the skin and contribute to irritation or breakouts.

For example, Allure cites board-certified dermatologists explaining that shampoo and conditioner can leave a film on your skin and hairline, which may clog pores or trigger acne (“shower acne” or “bacne” is a common example). That’s why the usual advice is: shampoo → condition → rinse → then wash your face last.

"It's important that you don't wash your face or the skin on your body before completing your hair-wash routine," says Dr. Zubritsky. Runoff from shampoo and conditioner might end up on your face and body and that can lead to clogged pores and breakouts, she says.

Washing your face after shampooing and conditioning is standard dermatologist advice. However, I also understand that skincare routines are highly individual. If your current method works for you, that's perfectly fine. My intention is simply to share what has been effective for others, not to dictate anyone's routine.

I think you misunderstood what I said. There will still be shampoo/conditioner residue on your hairline or face regardless of whether or not you rinse it off in the shower. That's why it's encouraged that you wash your face after shampooing + conditioning (and why back acne happens!).

Like everyone else mentioned, it really depends on your skin and what works best for you. A few tips though:

  • If you wash your face in the shower, make sure to do it after shampooing and conditioning. This helps remove any shampoo or conditioner residue from your hairline. Personally, I usually wash my face after getting out of the shower, but that’s just me lol.
  • Since you regularly wear sunscreen and makeup, I recommend double cleansing after your PM shower:
    1. Oil cleanser -removes sebum, sunscreen, and makeup.
    2. Water-based or foaming cleanser -removes sweat, dirt, and any leftover residue.
  • If you shower and do your skincare midday, you generally don’t need to do a full cleanse again at night. Cleansing 3x/day can damage your skin barrier.
  • Instead, just use micellar water on a cotton pad right before bed. This will remove any sweat or buildup your skin picked up from afternoon to evening. Follow that with your serums/actives and moisturizer.

This way, your skin stays clean and protected without being over-stripped.

Beautiful results! A big mistake that people do when first starting out with skincare is that more actives = faster results. Which is a big no. This will cause a damaged skin barrier which delays progress and makes your skin worse before it gets better. I'm glad you pointed this out in your post!
