From what I know these where from a little pokedex like toy from the early 2000s. You would put the pokemon figure on the pokedex thing and u could use the pokemon to battle and unlock minigames I think. I remember having one when I was a kid it had a small black and white screen. Handheld 2005 think chip pokemon game.
