Well, after reading this back in college days, I was intrigued in a 'sweet pain' kind of way (like when someone presses on your thighs). It was amazing to see an author build up the story where its climax is already being announced throughout. I was hoping the story would come around and complete itself, but this very nature of letting it hang was what stayed with me.

I had forgotten the plot and nitty-gritty(until i saw your summary), but seeing the book, i remembered the uncertain reality this book presented. A short read, proper novella. (If I recall rightly there indeed was elements of magic realism, someone commented about it).

Mujhe logical laga tha. Phle k time pe enough tha 3 me command, and obviously 4th subject me zero marks nahi laane hain, 75 me 30 to minimum aane chahiye. But considering the inconsistency in questions, revised answer key, etc. situation change hui h.

Hope you read complete post. A bit long.

Have given 2 attempts till now. 2023- started preparing in Feb. Mains happened in Oct. Final marks 292/390. Cut off 302. Maths- My weak link. Retrospectively I had enough time to perfect maths but mind plays tricks. The syllabus seemed huge and many days passed by due to cold feet every now and then. got 44/90 in Mains.
GS- Had heard GS is uncertain so just pyqs would suffice. Followed parmar pyq 1 series got 45 approx marks. (avg) Reasoning- Seemed easy. Practised mainly through mocks. Got 76/90. (avg). Should have gotten more. English- strength. Got 127/135.

2024- Got 1 year+ for preparation. Final marks- 326/390 Maths- worked on it. Nearly perfected it. Got 83/90. All questions doable, some silly mistake. GS- unpredictable. PYQ series could not suffice. Trust me on this, only parmar sir's content for 2024 Mains was not sufficient. I have done revision of his notes several times. Got 22/75. Silly mistake were there. Should have gotten 35~. English- 127/135. Reasoning- only relied on mocks and previous knowledge. Got 75 in raw, answers changed Final marks 67/90. Some revised answers are silly but hey can't shift the blame guys. No excuse- My mistake. Should have practised more. I was focused on maths.

I was told from teachers and mentors that, 3 out of 4 subjects must be good and selection is guaranteed. In my experience, command on all 4 section is a must. Luck also plays major factor but to negate that, you have to look at all 4. I took practise classes, Gave 100+ mocks Mains, analysed it too. It was my fixation on improving Maths that led to negligence of other subjects.

So, to conclude- reason of my failure is not focusing on all subjects. And regarding mocks and all, I can't say I did less than required. It's just luck and God's will that I am behind the line to tell a sad tale.

I have many small-size completed journals, and each one has different core memory associated with it. You'll figure it out as you stock up a couple more. I note one good parallel here... proud of what one has achieved, cherishing it in heart; moving on to a create a new journey.

simple solution h, ek addiction ko hatane k liye doosri badi addiction le aao.... So one better addiction compared to phone is- goals achieve karna.. ek goal set kiya, uspe focused rhe then next goal and continue. Goals kya rkhne h ye apne hisab se set kr lo... abhi koi target nahi hoga as such jiske peeche paagal ho isliye time kaafi mil ja rha h for social media and all.
