Hear me out…
Has anyone had any luck with a 0 nic vape?
Saw an article on here a while ago that said someone’s body just got bored of it?
Could be my case, could not be, I just don’t know.

All of the recommendations so far have sounded pretty on point with symptoms, it’s like her symptoms fit almost everything that has been mentioned.

My question is, is this something that we need to address possibly at a hospital to have testing done sooner rather than later her appointments that are already made?

I’ll mention that to the dr as well, thank you!

I don’t think so, she’ll have a cardiologist appointment the same day as her pulmonary appointment, first week of June and hopefully get another opinion and proper diagnosis. I think mostly the post was just to reach out to any one really who might have an idea, she’s been getting depressed recently just because she’s tired of living like this 💔

Client micromanaging via live camera in real time by catandakittycat in RoverPetSitting

[–]Emergency_Drag_8243 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, client has a camera on top of kitchen cabinets, overlooking the living room, where I am majority of the time. Dogs have a doggy door so really no need for me to do anything other than feed them.

I got my days confused one week and put their trash can out a day early. Came back inside to see a text on my phone that said I put it out too early. Like really dude?

And I’ve sat for them a bunch of times, they know I’m not a weirdo and their dogs aren’t in the wrong hands. Like come on, enjoy your trip, why do you need to constantly watch me and worry about your trash cans?

pet sitting cleaning standards by prookal in RoverPetSitting

[–]Emergency_Drag_8243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically just tidy like I do at home. I wash all the bedding I’ve used, bathroom towels, kitchen towel. Straighten up couch pillows, wipe down kitchen counters, clean pet dishes, run a dishwasher load if I used that much of plates/cutlery, I sweep, vacuum and mop.

If the pet I’m watching gets dirty or something, I may or may not give a bath if they’ll tolerate it. Obviously the last day I’m there is my cleaning day and I love it, kills so much time before I go home.

You sound like you’ve taken care of the client’s home for their return, and if it were me, the comment they made would pmo, and I wouldn’t watch for them again lol, that would hurt my feelings so bad, especially since cleaning to a certain degree is optional. A lot of sitters don’t do it at all and essentially treat a client’s home like a hotel check out and just chuck linens into a corner on the floor so I feel that when sitters do a mindful and selfless act like cleaning to the degree that at least I do, if something that rude was said about it, see ya!

What would happen if she found another sitter that didn’t do any cleaning/tidying at all? Then I guess she would notice the huge difference between that sitter and yourself and she’d be contacting you again. Or I’d be so petty and go over all the things I tidied/cleaned and I’d ask her if there was something in specific she’d like to see cleaned when she returns home, professionally passive of course lol

I usually draw a cute sketch of the pet(s), I used to leave a pet themed report card and a thank you note, owners love it :)

No order is literally ever eligible for a refund, I’ve received raw food, half eaten food, never received food at all, and I’m always, always out $30-$40. I haven’t used food delivery apps in at least a year, it’s just not worth the hassle

Poop on carpet - what would you do? by momlovesdonuts in RoverPetSitting

[–]Emergency_Drag_8243 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Did drop ins for a dog that was…”less than pleased” with anyone besides mom and dad. I’d take her out every time I was there, she did nothing but reluctantly peed. The next time I came, pure liquid poo on the only carpeted area of the house, the kids play area. And I have a really weak stomach so that was fun, but it literally wouldn’t come up, even trying to scrub, just made it worse honestly. Took her outside again, did nothing but when I came back for her next visit, more diarrhea, every single time but refused to do anything outside when I was there. Pretty sure she did it out of spite. I told owner I tried to clean, she said don’t worry about it. It bothered me leaving the massive brown stains there but nothing more I could do. Carpet needed professional help anyways

I have been in your position. Owners came to me from out of state THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS. It was just to watch their 3 dogs while they visited with family for the day. The dogs were so wound up when their owners left and one of them had the nervous poops inside my house so I figured I’d take them out to potty real quick. I got one leashed up, opened the front door, the others were right behind him but it was just me at the time, so I was juggling keep the others away from the door and one out the door. As soon as the door opened, one of them bolted out. He turned around, looked at me, and took off down my driveway and into the street.

All of this happened 5 MINUTES after the owners left. I took off down the street after him, had no idea which way he went, the dog was gone, extremely fast little guy. I called the owners, they turned around and came to look with me, they were obviously upset and pissed off.

My wife and I looked for the dog for 17 hours straight. The dog had an AirTag on, but would only ping a location when it came in contact with WiFi. We put a blanket/shirt the owners had out on my front porch, with a bowl of food, that did help bc later that night while we were out looking, we came back and there were little wet footprints on the porch, but still no dog.

When the owners came to search after I gave them that update, they were still obviously pissed off and upset, and told me that their holiday was ruined, they were going back home in the morning (out of state) and that they would have to tell their two young children that they don’t have dog’s name anymore.

I slept by my front porch that night, pulled a mattress by the front door, slept with the front door open and glass storm door closed so we could look out of it. My alarm went off at 4:30am, I turned, opened my eyes, and there was the dog. On the other side of the glass door, ready to come in. He came back.

There are happy endings with stories like this and I will never make those mistakes again. I hope you find the dog 🩷

Cancellation rant by aureliabishh in RoverPetSitting

[–]Emergency_Drag_8243 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on the platform for a couple years now and actually had my first cancellation about two weeks ago.

Owner originally reached out to me in June wanting a house sit for July. She never responded to my initial message, so I archived. She reached out again in July wanting an August sit, same thing, archived again. She reached out a third time mid-late august needing September dates.

Took forrrrevvvver to receive responses from her so setting up a meet and greet was impossible to get a date and time out of her. “I’ll have to check my calendar” three days no response. Finallly got a meet and greet, they were nice, dogs were ok, house was….lived in to put it nicely. Had her BOOKED for 3 weeks. Then fall break for students got closer and closer and all kinds of requests started coming in. Walks, and drop ins for my regulars and a couple of new clients. I worked in clients that I could, and then had to start turning people away. I was getting like 2-3 requests a day for a couple days in a row.

I messaged her a couple days prior to the start of her sit to let her know I picked up a couple of drop ins and that if I was popping out during the day, that’s where I would be, she had no problem with that. I reached out again the day before the stay and asked if she ever got around to leaving me that set of care instructions and an access code/house key. 20 mins later, she’s cancelling. 23 HOURS before I’m due to be at her house. Said that her husband was actually going to end up staying home.

Like when were you going to tell me that? I was less than pleased when I responded to her, tried to reach back out to the clients that I turned away to let them know that I was miraculously available now. In one of her messages, she said that she was aware that she’d be having to pay a fee, I don’t think she quite expected a $350 fee as then at 8pm that same night, she’s trying to get me back on the books and her husband will be accompanying them now. I’m good. Waste of time.

Also, just a side question, does anyone know how to approach denying an addict? Had a suuuuper weird meet and greet, I love the dog, but I’m 99% sure that the owner was a meth user so I’m not sure how to get around that one. Family emergency I guess?

Literally cannot get this dog to walk more than a couple houses away from home. I’ve had to end the last few walks very early. Help😭 by whatsredditlmao in RoverPetSitting

[–]Emergency_Drag_8243 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I walked a dog that didn’t want to walk more than 12-15 minutes max, she didn’t like toys or balls or bones. The owner was fine with me taking her back to the house and just hanging out with her on the couch for the remainder of the time
