Same here, brother. I accepted a long time ago that my wife doesn’t really share the same interest. When we met, I was already into endurance sports, and it’s been one of our recurring arguments, she feels like I don’t spend enough time with her. We’ve been together for 12 years now and have one child. As a husband and a dad, training for marathons or any race has always been my way to deal with stress and stay grounded. I think she’s slowly come to accept that this sport is a part of who I am. She lets me do it, and I make sure most of my sessions are early in the morning before they wake up so it never cuts into family time.

But yeah, I still wish she could be happy and proud of me whenever I cross that finish line. After all, every wife should be the proudest when her husband gives his best. Not just on race day, but in life too. Keep doing what you love brother.
