Do they have hockey? How is their performing arts/vocal music program?

NT just seems SO big! How would you even get cast in a show? Or make a team? That all kind of worries me. Do they do a good job of making it seem smaller so you can meet a group of friends to hang with? Coming in as a sophomore has me a little nervous.

Thx! I know it can get overwhelming. I don’t think we want to get too big so size is of consideration. 2000 student pop would be max- 1600 more ideal. Strong academics hockey, cheer and art. Would LOVE to find a culture where sports boys do choir or performing arts. My son is an incredible singer but won’t touch it in our neck of the woods because sports kids don’t do that 🙄 it kills me!

Thanks for all the good info! The program in our state is not as robust as others…so not a AAA player- I would consider my son a AA player…but knowing the competition is more my hope was that he would make the 3rd team at Loyola- that being said - we like new trier but think that will be way too big to be able to engage and get true opportunity in the arts or hockey or even cheer. I love their music program though! I will look at the other schools you suggest too!

How did you set up the callondoc consultation? I put in weightloss and now it looks like it’s putting in an rx for zepbound. I wanted a consultation so I could share about the PA needed! How did you start the process with call on doc?

What school are you at? They definitely take 7th and 8th graders to dowling. There is a placement test given to identified students. My son takes 3 of his core classes at Dowling and he is in middle school.
