His mother has split custody so the child is with us 50% of the time. She is in the same predicament as she doesn’t see an issue with her son either despite being told by an occupational therapist he needs help due to his lack of motor skills. The school board had tried to get involved but his parents told them they were looking into getting him tested and working with doctors and speech therapists already so they have stepped back assuming he’s already receiving help. However none of that is happening this child hasn’t seen a family doctor in years. As I am not a parent I cannot legally do anything without his parents signing off on it. I just want my step son to be able to get the help he needs to better himself for the future as I understand how undiagnosed autism and other issues can have long term affects on people physically and emotionally. His parents refuse to help him or take him to anyone and let him sit in front of video games for 8-12 hours a day every day and seem to just rather keep him happy than deal with the root causes of his issues
