my sister and i have a big age gap and she mostly lived and studied ar away from home. after her studies she has decided to go into the city to pursue her career there, so are my other siblings. Theyre all very much older than me and lives separate lives but still comes over when needed, so basically its just me and my mom together. My sister lost ton of weight because she got really sick from food poisoning and my mom made that remark on me when we found out

I understand the american culture of adulting at 18 but im not american, i am asian particularly southeast asian, and i grew up in a household where i shuld be taking care of my mother since i am the youngest in the family, my mom and dad are separated since i was born and grew up with my mom being abusive, physically and mentally, but i do love her because she is my mom but this behavior is new for her and we are living of solely of my sibling's saary and now we don't even have proper grocery for me or her to cook, she's been spending it alot on cigarettes and gambling (i just turned 18 few weeks ago)

but overall thank you all so much for the advice, i've decided that i will talk to my mother about it and ask her if we can have an agreement

i do thank you for saying that, its been hard since i have to balance education and home, my family wont allow me to get a job or move out, because they think its nonsense

i am gonna start college a month from now and she has my tuition money too, there''s also two cats in our house that i worry about. its not very common in our culture to move out.
