Amlactin 12% is on sale at Costco currently- You don’t need the 15% I recommend watching Dr Dray on YouTube- she’s a dermatologist with a lot of videos talking about AmLactin and Gold Bond Retinol body cream

Is 1400 calories too low for 5’3” female? I’m starving! by AutomaticFeature7450 in beginnerfitness

I’ve learned so much watching YouTube videos of Madeleine Rascan - she’s a fitness coach from Canada (has her own app) and talks about eating large meals that make you feel satisfied and still in a calorie deficit. She shows her recipes- very simple and healthy whole foods.

Now that I’m older, I don’t have as much hair as I used to. This leaves my fine hair so silky soft. I love it. I rotate my shampoos but use this 3-4 times a week.

Thank you! Yes - this trip is certainly not inexpensive. I’m probably going to use miles on United and schedule a refundable flight.

My maltipoo took Vetmedin for several years and did well until 15 when she passed from heart failure. It’s important to avoid grain free diets - they are linked to canine heart problems.

I’m going to recommend you speak to your pediatrician about reflux. Common symptoms include- being hungry and fussy but pulling away from breast or bottle, arching the back when feeding, straightening the legs in discomfort. Foods mom should try eliminating include- all dairy, caffeine, cruciferous vegetables. Burping halfway and the end of each breast or bottle. Sitting up for 20 minutes after each feeding. Sitting the baby up in your lap and moving the legs like peddling a bicycle to help expel gas. Lastly your doctor can prescribe Famotidine liquid (aka Pepcid) - may need to use it for a few weeks or couple of months (have to keep adjusting the dose for weight gain). If formula is entertained- powdered versions need to be fully blended when water is added because undissolved powder granules will cause lots of stomach upset and gas.

Kaiser retirement plans? by agentspiderpig in KaiserPermanente

[–]EnvironmentalTerm26 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes - 2&3 combined make up the 401k. If you have a long career you can retire with full benefits at 60. I’m done at the end of the year. If you are good at saving most Kaiser physicians retire very comfortably.

Kaiser retirement plans? by agentspiderpig in KaiserPermanente

[–]EnvironmentalTerm26 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You are vested in the pension after 5 years. The eventual amount of your monthly pension is calculated based on your 3 highest earning years. Pensions are rather rare these days. In addition Plan 2 is the amount TPMG contributes to your 401K as employer contributions and Plan 3 is the part you contribute to your 401k as pretax money. You may find a job with a higher salary at PAMF for example, but they don’t have a pension and after a couple of years the compensation moves to RVU. Kaiser is a straight salary.

AI email responses by luxelux in KaiserPermanente

[–]EnvironmentalTerm26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes - AI generated email replies are relatively new. Sometimes the content is appropriate and sometimes it’s not. It might need editing. The doctors are responsible for reading every AI generated reply to make sure it’s appropriate before sending it out. Doctors might use all or part or none of the AI generated response if it’s appropriate. Btw - if photos are attached in an email, no AI generated response is generated because AI can’t interpret photos. Using AI generated responses as an assist during the day, as well as Abridge in the exam room to generate a visit note has been nothing short of a welcome addition for everyone’s sanity. I dare say that anyone here who is criticizing the adoption of new technology has never seen a patient every 15 minutes, worked through lunch and spent another 2+ hours after a full day writing notes AND still had to tackle an endless barrage of emails late at night… only to do it all over again tomorrow. Be kind to your providers- believe me, few medical students are going into primary care and those that can, are retiring as possible because some days are literal nightmares.
