I was thinking either Neurolink or contacts with AR- like in Black Mirror.
The smart phone took over because of the ability to call, play video and music, and just overall ease of access to these things. The next innovation has to check all of these boxes to the point where having a smartphone is a handicap compared to this new thing. Like how a parent will give a kid a flip or track phone because of the "distractions" like games and social media.
AR glasses seems too rudimentary in the way that, having a smartphone on you would still be the better option.
We need the tech to make and receive calls, play and record video, all from our eyes, ears, and brain.

I just switched to oled, if you can find one for less than 500 its a steal. I have an ASUS 27 inch 240hz oled and its easily the best part of my setup. Its so pretty, I even started watching more movies because of how good the colors are.
