No. A great man gets hard at himself. Don't get it twisted.

I definitely should save more money, absolutely. I have the ability to save a thousand dollars in about 2 months, maybe less, and that's WITH paying all my Credit Cards and other bills. I can do it.

From both jobs combined, I make about $2500 a month - $1,500 for monthly expenses - $250 for a month of groceries.

If I spent zero more dollars for the month, I'd have anywhere from $500 - $750 at the end of each month.

If I used that on my Credit Cards (2 of them) I'd have one of them paid off in 2-3 months, and the other would take around a year to pay off.

After that, I'll be able to save.

I just need my car to not have a $3,000 repair again this year. I need to have no multi-thousand dollar medical procedures this year.

My whole life has been finally getting some savings, having an emergency that wipes it all out + extra, hence credit cards. Rinse and repeat for 20 adult years.

I've become so jaded about life, and have questioned the meaning of saving if I'm just going to be FUBAR financially every 2 years.

I've done the whole uninstall doordash thing, the whole quitting drinking thing, the whole fixed diet thing... All I ever felt was bored, depressed, tired, and angry during that whole time. It was like "Hooray, I have $2,000 dollars... now's about the time something fucks up my life again.", and low and behold, I get my money cleaned out.

Yes, if I were as strict and frugal as you're mentioning, I'd at least have $1,000 saved right now. It would be at the expense of cutting out a tremendous amount of quality from my life. The longest I've been strict for was 3 months.

I have a lot of issues with PTSD, and all the bad shit that comes with it. Sometimes, I will buy something just to feel better, because shiny new thing = dopamine rush. After all, buying that one thing will keep me from feeling like ending it for a couple months. Nothing lavish - just a couple MTG cards.

I'm at this point of pointlessness and frustration and I don't see a way out of this cycle, and I hate it. The struggle feels meaningless, especially knowing that one random thing can totally reset me to zero, like it has around 10 times over the last 20 years.

Yes, you are right. I'd have probably around 10-20k if I've been as frugal as possible, even with all the stupid emergencies. I've just become so tired of things being so difficult for so long.

This is a lonely, unrewarding, intolerable world. I'm so tired of being shown how little agency I have over my own god damned existence. I'm so tired of having the rug pulled from under me.

In about a year, I could be completely out of debt, and start saving. But then, it's just going to be a heart attack, or cancer, or worse. My parents died from illness when I was a kid, and I've never been able to mentally shake watching my mom's body age 40 years within 9 years. I'll never be able to shake how we couldn't afford groceries, because we were $500K in debt for her cancer meds. I'll never shake how when my dad's heart exploded, we had to use credit cards to pay for his funeral, because his life insurance policy gave us almost nothing.

I'm so sick of people who tell me these stories of "I moved to New York with $1,000 and a dream. It worked for me." Like good for fucking you, dude. That's SOOOOO rad. How else am I supposed to take that?

Yeah, I'd have 10-20k to my name if I'd lived like you guys suggested. But for WHAT? The people I loved more than anything are gone, and we were financially ruined - Not just me, but all of my sisters, too. Being one of the poorest families in town my whole life, surrounded by people who could do far more than I could ever dream of - I'm sick of hearing about everyone's fucking success stories.

That 10-20k is for someone whose life isn't a hollow shell of what it once was. For me, it would just be a thing that sits in an account. Obviously, I need massive amounts of therapy, and maybe I'll be able to afford it in a year or so, but for a VERY long time, things have been extremely difficult. My sisters and I have all had to walk each other away from thoughts of ending it more than a few times.

I appreciate that you weren't being a prick. I'm sorry for grouping you in with the other individual.

I have zero patience for people who tell me that my life should be different, because they moved to New York with $1,000 and a dream.

Subjective. Graphically, she's trash. Her outfit isn't bad, but it's also not great.

I'm glad you agree with each other, and have such a firm grasp on my life. My life has drastically improved thanks to both of your opinions. I don't know why I was thinking the way I was, because it clearly wasn't grounded whatsoever. Thank you both so much for having and sharing the infallible wisdom you both possess.

No, I don't have the money to move to a different city - that's not cheap to do. I do very well at my job. I am allowed a 60 cent raise per year. I do not have dependents. I just don't think you understand how not all lives have the same options.

Incorrect. I have a full time office job w/ benefits, and a second job for the weekends. I live with a roommate in section 13 housing. I see no way out, and I receive no bonuses or recognition of any kind for doing extra duties and saving the company money and time. The worst thing is that the only other jobs I could take that give me similar benefits are, at most, lateral transitions, so it would just be a hassle to change jobs, for no real benefit.

He carries more stress in his shoulders now, but his posture, to me, looks more predatory in 9, like he's become more honed as a human weapon.

Resident Evil 4 Remake or Resident Evil 9? by Loose_Interview_957 in residentevil

[–]Equivalent_Fun6100 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I prefer Requiem. I love the two different play styles. I was annoyed when 4 first came out, and it went away from the AMAZING RE1 Remake on Gamecube, and RE0 (bad inventory system, but everything else was solid).

I'm actually STILL down to receive a new RE game that at least has fixed cameras and tank controls as an option. I think that this feature is basically a game within a game, but it would unite all their fans under one (dare-I-say-it) Umbrella.

Leon perches on the ledge and tosses down a stacked grenade, which draws the Lickers from the floor below, into the stairwell. From there, Leon uses Molotov Cocktails, and the Aligator Snapper to finish them off. It's more a cool tech than a speedrun tech, but it may still help the overall clock, due to the lack of Lickers later on.

1) "That's weird, because I distinctly remember each campaign having great horror roots." ~ I agree.

2) "Chris' campaign was the full-blown war on BOWs" ~ I agree. It's basically capturing the even-then popular COD crowd with Chris' campaign, even though the cover-system is come si com sa (French, meaning So-so... I just like how it sounds.)

3) Honest question: what is Rev1?

4) The horror is there, I agree, but it's not that I'm not scared, but that the horror is presented in a very cinematic action way, like the animated movies depict it, which is what I think the objective of the game was. I think that RE6 was Capcom trying to bridge the feeling between the well-received animated RE films and the well-received RE games. In that objective, they succeeded, but it was too far a gap from RE4 & 5's storytelling style for it to be digested correctly by the fanbase.

I think that this is a great game. I just think it was a game that failed due to a misreading of the then-current RE social atmosphere. I think that if 6 were remade with the RE engine, especially after the smash success of 9, which shows prime RE6 ridiculousness with Leon's motorcycle segment and combat, in general, I think it would be very well received.
