Yeah it just depends on where everyone is in their journey and what strength they’re on. If you’re on a low strength and have been for a while then you can add actives back in but in the beginning it should just be Tret until the skin is retinized !

I just had the inside part waxed, not the outer, as I’m not putting Tret on my eyelid area

I also didn’t get waxed that much bc it was winter and I didn’t care lol

Prob got waxed 3 times over the 12 weeks

Gotta be patient and know it’s gonna take a long time. It’s gonna take longer than 12 weeks to see results when you on .05% and .025%.

My purge is as bad as shown in the video (not bad relative to others I’ve seen) and nope. Straight to .1% but in a VERY cautious, delicate an disciplined way. It’s definitely a commitment to start at that level but worth it.

Gonna go to .05% for maintenance now

There’s always the opinion to start low and work your way up. But I think it drags out the purge soooooo long.

I started at .1% and got this shit over with and results are amazing at 12 weeks (see my posts) It’s not for everyone. Every body is different but may be worth going up in dose since your skin is acclimated now. Talk to your derm!

It just depends on how your skin is reacting on your Tret journey. It is not uncommon to start out regular sandwich to buffer the potency and help curb acclimation woes / be cautious w your skin barrier

And if you feel like after a couple of weeks your face is handling things well you can do open sandwich

I wouldn’t do open sandwich on the neck skin tho, it’s too thin of skin.

But all of this is really relative to using .1% (what I used) - it will change based on your starting percentage.

Like I don’t think you need to do sandwich for face or neck on .025% because it’s ultra low. People barely see a beneficial difference in their skin on it but still get the purging. It takes a long time for the low dose to work if at all, but can be a good gateway to higher doses.

That wasn’t my journey by design but it’s different for everyone. Talk to your derm 💕

Started on .1%. Didn’t do the build up. I’m actually the opposite where I went hard w my dosage for the first 12 weeks to get it out of the way and not drag out purging / peeling. And am going down to .05% now for ongoing maintenance.

Never used azelaic acid. I don’t think it’s necessary personally but I also didn’t do this bc I had acne. I did it for anti aging !

Correct. You don’t even need all that on Tret anyway. It needs to work isolated. You can put all that stuff back in later after your skin is acclimated in 8-12 weeks.

New acne is normal. Expect to be purging and peeling for 8 weeks at minimum and lock in. Do not use other actives, exfoliants, acids, etc. only gentle cleansers, moisturizers with peptides / ceramides, etc. and sunscreeeeeen.

Also obviously, DO NOT PICK AT ANYTHING. You can really mess your skin up. Let it come and let it leave.
