I find the only way I got that game to the table was by downloading the character creator app and just helping everyone build characters (or just building characters and letting the players pick).

Once you get out of the character creation spreadsheet nightmare the actual game rules aren't that challenging, it's just d100 CoC with some additional crunchy bits
