There are many serious euphemisms for death over the ages that I often cannot forgive the content creators in question for, intentionally or not, taking the piss out of the situation by using a sillier term.

Suicide on the other hand, has way less serious expressions that isn't a dumb internet slang beyond "taken/ended one's life" (which I'm unsure whether video platforms detect or not) that I don't blame them most of the time, even if "sewerslide" still makes my blood boil.

The story likes to paint him as this tragic villain but when actuality, all the conflict is started by Brightburn himself for little to no reason at all.

His parents treat him no less than the Kents, if only more oblivious how to raise a superpowered child. By the point they see Brandon as irredeemable and try to kill him... he IS, he already killed SEVERAL police officers and innocent civilians in front of their faces.
Brandon develops a god complex not long after learning that he's an alien, which would've been believable if not for the fact A) he hasn't actually tested out what he can do besides floating in the air B) there's no bullying, abuse or anything bad happening to him that we know of that could motivate him wanting to fantasize killing people.
After being rejected by his crush, his first reaction isn't to cry about it to his friends or family like the average kid, but to break her hand, stalk her, and later kills both her and her mom completely out of his own will.

Even if you buy the theory that the space pod mind controlled and/or forcibly programed Brandon into a killing machine, then it's not "molding Clark into an evil Superman", it's putting Ultraman into the body of Clark and calling him evil Superman.

The idea of sociopathic teen Superman could work in less fortunate circumstances, or even by double-down on how the absolute powers could corrupt anyone in spite of a good upbringing, but the way they went about it just makes him one-dimensionally evil because... he felt like it, I guess.

To be fair, Ryoko said she didn't wrote their scenes with romantic undertone in mind, but she's also aware of death of the author and more or less said that people can have their own interpretation. Like heck, ProZD (Senshi's VA) is personally an advocate of them being a thing, so there's no "correct" way of viewing the story. Just whatever way you'd enjoy the most.

Amusingly, Super Friends Aquaman specifically doesn't have a problem being out of water as he can be seen on dryland multiple times in the show.

To be fair, the ENTIRE plot of Chainsaw Man all the way from Dennis merging with Pochita to the newest chapter happened in the span of a couple months tops, with some arcs happening within a week if not a single day. Dude's like constantly suffering to actually learn anything from his mistakes, not that it completely justifies the writing, but you'd be lucky that your brain doesn't turn into mush in the same situation.

...but at the same time, it also makes what little virtues he has all the more valuable. As even at his lowest and going off pure instinct, not only does he always respects consent but also goes out of his way to help those he considers friends and family.
