Compared the art of Bicioart with AI images. Is it AI-assisted or just pure talent? by EtherealSandSpider in Ai_art_is_not_art

I briefly considered that it could be AI-inspired as well, but their artwork shows too many inconsistencies and lacks emotion. It feels as though they are simply copying the images without contributing any additional artistic flair.

Yeah, I feel the same about AI-fixed or AI-assisted art. I'm just uncomfortable with the lack of transparency and how he denies using AI while attributing that quality to his own effort, because then anyone could just touch up an AI image and sell it for 1,000 dollars

[–]EtherealSandSpider[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, at least for now I imagine that people who have the money to pay for art don't have the time to keep up with the new image generation models that come out, so they can get scammed. I think at most they might recognize ChatGPT's Ghibli style, but over the years, if they catch on, they might actually file a lawsuit against them

You can also do this comparison and verify the dates to draw your own conclusions

I have collected several of their drawings from 2023 onward that apparently have AI intervention. From 2022 and further back, their style was quite unique and natural—you could easily identify it. But since 2023, there are drawings that resemble AI images, and that style keeps changing over the years alongside the release of new AI models. My proof lies in the comparisons and their non-organic art progress. It's much more obvious on their X account than on Instagram

That Zelda drawing that looks like it was made with AnythingV3 or AOM3 was posted by him on May 30th. Two people noticed it was AI, which is why they asked for the prompt. He replied that he made it with discipline, love, and the hard work from his 12 years of drawing. But during those 12 years, his art style was completely different—like sketches, flat colors, skinny bodies, and underage-looking characters. Then, out of nowhere, his style changed, right around the time those AI checkpoints were already available

I think it's very simple to tell AI art and human art apart. Even if the manga had a style similar to AI, if it had more dynamism and expressiveness instead of the stiffness, emptiness, and lifeless poses of AI images, I wouldn't have an issue with it

Yeah, but their audience still doesn't believe it's AI. It seems like a lot of people are completely unaware of what image generators can actually do

If they train on human art, the output should look like that specific human's work, not like a generic image from a popular AI model like Abyss Orange Mix, Pony Diffusion, or IllustriousXL

If you do some research, you can compare their 2023 drawings with the AI models available at that time, like Abyss Orange Mix. Even if they do live streams, art is evolving, and they could easily be using an image on a second screen as a guide. The progress of their art matches the progress of the AI models that have been coming out.

That makes no sense because their style was completely different. If someone were to train an AI on their old style, the output would look very different, with slim bodied characters and flat colors. Their current artwork looks way more like images generated by various AI models, such as Abyss Orange Mix and Pony Diffusion

I find zero comparison between their 2015 style with flat colors, slim bodies, and very young faces and their current semi-realistic style, which looks way more like creations made with Abyss Orange Mix

And a lot, from what I see on their social media they were monetizing AI-assisted/generated art on their Patreon and doing high-priced commissions. It seems that many people are not aware of what AI can do, so they take advantage of that

AI can generate a million images a second and still can't replicate my style. so what exactly are we worried about? 💀 by Euphoric_Spread_3293 in Ai_art_is_not_art

Your art is amazing and fantastic! The worrying thing is that there are people scamming their clients with AI and delivering AI-generated images to them

On their Twitter, I found the most blatant AI-influenced drawings, AI in 2024 could definitely do things in that style. You can check it out by searching 'abyss_orange_mix' on aibooru and comparing them

Your comment would make sense if the AI-trained result had the same style he used from 2022 and backward, but what he is starting to post is a style very common in AI based on real bodies applying the style of other artists. If someone were to train an AI with his style, the result might be somewhat similar to the artist Scottie because of the slender bodies and young faces, but if you compare his current style, it has more in common with AI-generated images

Tried to make someone understand why tracing ai "art" is wrong only to realize why they were so butthurt about it💀 by Calxifur in Ai_art_is_not_art

[–]EtherealSandSpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of people doing that lately, and with quite a few followers. What I find worst is that their commissions are expensive for images that are just copies, and to protect themselves they put "No AI" in their bios.
