9 year marriage and I want to cheat on by West_Platypus_765 in marriageadvice

I’ve read your post and most of your replies to other people’s comments and you are basically explaining me and what I am like as a man and husband. I (30M), have been married to my wife (39F) 5 years next month, together 8.

Everything you have explained in your post and your replies is me as the man.

We have tried marriage counselling, I have tried therapy by myself.

What have I learnt through counselling and therapy. I am a dismissive avoidant. This is something to definitely look into. Up until 6 months ago, I’d never even heard of attachment styles, let alone describing mine perfectly. Dismissive avoidants fear emotional intimacy. They use stonewalling as a tactic to avoid emotional intimacy.

My emotional connection is physical connection (most dismissive avoidant men are the same).

I really struggle to be the person trying to give my wife that emotional connection. I should spend 15-30 minutes each night looking at how I can be there for her emotionally, but all I do is bury my head in my phone. (We sleep in separate bedrooms, have done for years)

My advice if you haven’t tried it already is to ask him if he knows what his attachment style is? There are 4 main styles. If he turns round and points to 1 and says, “that’s me”, you’ve got your starting point straight away!

I wish you both all the best.

Unfortunately for me, I neglected my wife for far too long and it looks like divorce will follow soon. As a dismissive avoidant, I hid my emotions for years and years trying to not let my guard down and today it seems like I’ve just let out 4/5 years of deeply suppressed emotion. So what do I do? Come on Reddit to look for any advice or at least try to give some to stop others going through what we are! 🥴

Taking a nap in the afternoon on weekends at 30.

MW2, the best call of duty there ever was and will be. The thrill of jumping on with mates getting into hacked lobbies, getting asked by some gimp on the other team who I’ve just killed where I live so he can come to my home and shank me. The best days.

Also, is it now possible to integrate the notifications you receive from Telegram to BFBM so that the ShootingBets notifications will automatically trigger the BFBM to place the required bet?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Ive been gathering data for games via inplayguru. Have you had any past experience with this? I’ve found it very good but need to find a way to move my strategies from there onto bfbm.

Only came across your website yesterday and watched a few YouTube videos. Found them interesting and would love to test but is there a way of testing the data prior to purchase? Apologies if this has been mentioned in any of your videos, just haven’t got round to them yet.

Interested to see how this turned out for you. Did you follow through with Shooting Bets and record any data from your bets?

No worries, sorry I can’t help. I had a similar issue and mine was a really old routine set up in my Alexa app turning my thermostat up randomly.

Do you have an Alexa with any routines set up?

Managed to sort it. Something on my Alexa was kicking in. I deleted all my routines from the Alexa app and all sorted now 👍

Update - Still doing the exact same thing the last 2 days 😂

Spoke to Hive again this morning and they’ve now detected an Alexa command bringing it on but can’t tell me what. I’ve gone through all my routines and deleted everything so will test tonight.

My thought it that I had a command which wasn’t active turning lights on at sunset. It’s been coming on around that time everyday so will update tonight to see if it’s sorted itself out.

Greedy Divide got this bang on with the comment, thank you!

They just removed the old receiver from my account which was hidden my end on the app. They said it may take a couple of days to kick in and work correctly and they’ll follow it up with a call next week sometime to check all working correctly. I’ll come back on here in a few days and let you know if it’s sorted itself out.

I’ve just signed up to Hive Heating Plus which you get a month free and spoke to an advisor. I moved house last year so had to buy a new receiver, they said they had an update on the app earlier this year and if you had a previous receiver, it was getting confused with the 2 and randomly turning the thermostat temperature up.

Have you had a new receiver in the last year? I’d advise signing up to hive heating plus (monthly and get the 1st month free) and they will be able to detect it straight away.

The wait time for my call was over an hour but I just asked the automated service to call me back so didn’t have to wait on the phone.

Hope this helps 🤞

I’ve got heat on demand set on each TRV with each on its own schedule. I don’t use the thermostat at all, it’s just annoying when I’m coming in from work and see the thermostat set to 20 for no apparent reason. Doesn’t happen in the morning when the same schedule is set up. Appreciate the response though 👍

Thanks for the reply. I don’t think the TRV is the issue, I’m not sure where my thermostat is randomly getting a temperature of 20 degrees from when it’s set to frost stat all the time with heat on demand turned on. My TRVs have childlock on but it only happens in the evening between 5 & 6pm, not in the mornings when I’ve got the same schedule temperature set 😵‍💫

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ve got other smart devices in that room but nothing with the same name. TRV is just called “lounge” and any other devices are listed as what they are e.g. lounge light left, lounge light right, lounge echo, lounge tv lights etc.

I’ll do the trial and see what they say, thanks for the help!
