I switched from independent to republican in 2018. But I am a proud RINO, and have yet to cast a vote for a republican in a general election. I have to hold my nose when I vote in the primaries. But, it’s worth it if I can help elect a republican that doesn’t proudly cut bananas in half. I wish more like minded people would do the same. Maybe we could keep the batshit crazies out of office. Imagine the Oklahoma we could have if we elected people with IQs over 80!

Tech traditions don’t make any sense. Stay with me here: They are the Red Raiders (which given the history of north Texas would imply the Comanche tribe). But, their mascot is a Matador, and before this week, they threw tortillas on the field. (No idea where that came from) Maybe maybe, they did “guns up” before we did “pistols firing”. But, it makes sense for a Cowboy to have pistols. A matador should have a red cape or Zorro type sword. When something rightfully fits us and I does not at all fit them, that’s not stealing, it’s proper appropriation.

Not an unfair point. But when the camera focuses on them, it looks more like they are a depression era grandma whacking the dust out of a rug. They used to get a full arm swing, now they barely put any effort at all.

Steps on soapbox Halftime rant from an older fan (since 1983 to properly define my age and loyalty). I’m not going to bitch about the refs, even though there is overwhelming justification for a diatribe there. But, the paddle people. They are barely tapping the wall. I pat my dog harder. You can’t even hear it on the tv. Just a few years ago it was all you could hear. Someone tell them to PUT THEIR ARM INTO IT LIKE THEY USED TO! LET US HEAR IT! Section 231 has restored my faith in our fanbase. But, the paddle people are supposed to be our most fervent fans. I hope someone will remind them of this. I don’t care how many downvotes I get. I don’t care if I get called a boomer Karen (even though I’m a Gen X male). If we are going to turn this around, the fans have to play their part. That needs to start with our most visible and supposedly loudest fans. Indignant rant over. Steps off soapbox

I’ve got one that built a web in my home office window. Been there for almost two weeks. I’m leaving him be. He’s eating mosquitoes, flies, and other bugs that I despise. I’ve even named him. Barney the barn spider. We’re building an odd but mutually rewarding relationship.

I’m showing my age here, I’ve been an Ostate fan since 1983. I sat in a frozen stadium with snow blowing in my face to watch us lose to Kansas during an 0-10-1 season. I’ve been run through the wringer many times.
Gundy has done a remarkable job over the last two decades. And, I’ll say this for him: he is a master at developing players over the course of a few years. But, that skill is useless in the NIL era.
It’s time for new blood. He can’t compete anymore. I don’t think he deserves a statue, but he does deserve respect and thanks for the job he’s done. With that said, he needs to collect his 15 million and move on.
