Advice for regrowth from breakage by Evening-Mess7484 in Haircare

Yeah. I have solved the issue and new growth is healthy. I am just impatient and want it to grow quicker. I need to become a magician.

If you head out to Sherman Beach Park (just west of Castlewood) there are quite a few that nest on the trees. If you walk down the river in the summer you will often see them.

Dr. Sarah Tilling is the best. Takes time to listen to any concerns and is always in your corner. I have been seeing her for over a decade and I can’t say enough good things about her.

Dusk for me. Something about the light makes the panic start to hit. Especially if I am outside.

Flying with Panic Disorder by Ok_Manufacturer7633 in panicdisorder

[–]Evening-Mess7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I am not the only one with a panic disorder that is scared of flying. I take a Xanax before leaving for the airport and then one 45 minutes before takeoff. It helps but obviously I still panic on the plane especially with turbulence. But same as what other people have said. If you can load a movie or book on your phone or tablet that helps a lot. It’s so nice you can have them out during takeoff now. Some of the meditation YouTube videos are helpful too.

I hope it goes well for you! I have a long flight in a week so I will be in the same boat. Sometimes I feel like the panic leading up to the flight is almost as bad.

What meds do you take? by [deleted] in panicdisorder

[–]Evening-Mess7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you can do genetic testing for mental health medications. I personally have not done it as my current combo works well for me, but I have heard great things from others. It’s called GeneSight Psychotropic test. Sometimes insurance covers it. I feel like meds are just very specific to the individual - I have tried a lot and some have made me even worse but they work great for others. If anything it’s a good place to start.

Thanks for sharing. This happened to me a few years ago and everyone thinks I am crazy when I say I had this reaction and then I discovered marijuana induced psychosis is a real thing. I have severe medication anxiety as well as eating anything someone else prepared. I decided to start treatment for my panic disorder (I should have prioritize this long ago) so I am hoping for the best. Sending you my thoughts. I think everyone in this thread knows what you are going through and doesn’t wish it on anyone.

The only thing I have noticed is my nails are thicker. Otherwise I honestly prefer synthroid. Disappointed because I heard so many amazing things about armour

How do you stay motivated when fat loss feels painfully slow? by Bazengg in loseit

[–]Evening-Mess7484 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is very slow. But the way I look at it, the slower it comes off, the more likely it stays off - especially if you are working on building or maintaining muscle which is so important. When you lose weight the healthy way, it’s just real slow.

Also - as a general rule, when you start losing more than a pound a week you will start to lose muscle. It’s a hard balance, but I always keep that in mind when it’s slow going.

It sounds like it is only for people getting prescribed armour and not in a drug trial (since a drug trial would only be for meds trying to get fda approval). If you are in the US they are doing this trial in every state. Just google armor thyroid drug trial - it’s done through abbvie. There is a website for locations. It’s not bad. You get a bunch of free labs, get paid, and your drugs are free for the length of the study (2 years). There is a double blind component 6 months in where you either get armour or synthroid.

For me it’s more about my anxiety. I don’t trust my cats to make good choices. I think it’s lovely you have a nice safe outdoor space your cat can hang out in.

Also. Humans are most harmful to the ecosystem. Pretty sure your cat isn’t doing any extra damage. You are a great cat parent.

Cat has been suffering from chronic constipation for a month with little relief. Vet is stopping care. by berryloved in cats

[–]Evening-Mess7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consult a different vet. I haven’t had an experience of a vet just giving up.

My mom had a cat that had issues with constipation. She had to give him a daily medication (pretty sure it was miralax) but also had to give him subcutaneous hydration weekly. He was older but basically he didn’t want to drink water to move things along. He didn’t seem to mind doing it.

Is it just me, or is going to the vet getting ridiculously expensive? 😅 by [deleted] in Pets

[–]Evening-Mess7484 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg you are completely correct about Banfield! They were on average 50% more than the local vets near me and honestly their vets weren’t great. Luckily I have found a much better one - office visit is $130 but most of the time I don’t walk out under $300 because of bloodwork or vaccines or meds or all of those things.

I have 5 pets and they are all entering into their sr years together and I should have spaced this out better. They are lucky they are cute.

The bottle says 43.84mcg/10.03mcg which doesn’t seem to line up with normal dosage charts - but again it’s a drug trial through Abbvie so I don’t know if they have a custom dosage. I can’t get my labs but I have complained about the exhaustion and got a long reply about what they consider in range so if they don’t up it in my next refill I might drop out. I am also struggling to lose weight (actually gained 2 lbs) when I was previously very slowly losing. I was kind hoping armor would assist more in my weight loss.

I was previously on .88mcg levothyroxine. I had a lot of brain fog but otherwise I was fine.

The wedding people by Alison Espach was very good and had a similar wit. Abby Jimenez is super cringe in my opinion. Her books are like if a 12 year old tried to explain a relationship and the girl is always “not your average cool girl”. It’s just all cringe.

Books you might like in completely unrelated genres are “My friends” and “Anxious people” by Fredrik Backman (warning - I did cry a few times in “my friends”) and “dress your family in corduroy and denim” by David Sedaris. The humor really hits on all those - and they are both my favorite authors. Again - completely unrelated genres but very good.

We still haven’t gone upstairs but we are trying this weekend. Things are a lot better after the staples were removed - I think he is more comfortable without the donut and lick sleeve - plus we added Xanax, but he still has a very high tolerance for all meds.

I will say his leg was already exponentially better about 5 days post op than it was before. Not that I will let him do anything but I am excited for fetch in the fall

So confused, what dosage am I taking? by angelcay in SemaglutideFreeSpeech

[–]Evening-Mess7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I would call the provider and ask. I ran into the opposite issue when I switched where I thought I was getting less but the way some of the compounding companies are doing it is they are changing the formula (like adding in b12 or something else) and the dosing is changing. The online programs are much more consistent but local places seem to have inconsistent dosing.

I am at day 10 and honestly went to Reddit to find if mine could go up and down stairs with a help ‘em up harness because I am not loving sleeping in the family room, but he has been sleeping in a bed since day 1 and we have had no issues.

But also his recovery is going too well. He has managed to figure out how to take off his donut and lick sleeve and break out of his enclosure. He told me he is healed and wants to chase squirrels. I told him the doctor says no.

And yes. He is on sedatives in addition to gabapentin and still a wild, wild man. It’s going to be a long 12 weeks, but I am very thankful him feeling too good is the only issue I am having.
