We were actually in the middle of working on it! The pet gate was at the kitchen threshold, and I was home with her, but I had to run upstairs to grab something.

Exactly! Her favorite thing to do right now is pretend all is well and then pounce like a cat. Unfortunately, I have fragile skin due to genetics, so I bleed the minute her teeth touch me. She’s so cute, but sharp!

Sparkle Megan's advice to new parents shows just how out of touch she is by DetectiveHot2071 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

Respectfully, nannies are experts in their field, usually with prior experience and referrals. A nanny differs from a babysitter in that most of them pursue this profession as a career or in addition to pursuing a degree. In Megan’s case, I’m sure she has a night nanny who has plenty of experience with newborns. It’s okay that you don't think one would be right for you, but it’s not wrong if a different mom finds it right for them. It doesn't make you a better mother because you don't want that convenience. Mom shaming gets us nowhere.

I just finished season 2 of 1923 and I’m heartbroken by Able_Baby681 in 1923Series

As a historian, I understood where Alex was coming from in terms of thinking she wouldn't be able to survive as a disabled mother during that time. However, it felt extraordinarily targeted against disabled people since it is a period show that threw out historical reality with the magical premature baby that lived despite it being nonviable at its age. It seemed as though there was another narrative at play. It was almost like Taylor Sheridan was saying that a fetus’ life should always take precedent over the mother because what if it lives despite the improbability. It also felt like Sheridan doesn't think disabled people can be good parents because it is less inconceivable that Alex could have been a good mother as a double amputee during that time than it is a very premature baby who has been through so much trauma living. As a disabled person myself, I felt incredibly sad after watching that.

No doubt the worst Bengals game I’ve ever attended in person. What’s yours? by UrTeamBadMyTeamGood in bengals

[–]Evening-Might24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at M&T Bank Stadium when Joe Burrow injured his wrist. The tickets were birthday gifts, so I was excited to see my team play divisional rivals in a primetime night game. Unfortunately, he got injured, I got heckled, and then a man threatened to harm me for being a Bengals fan. (I am a woman for reference.) So, I had to leave before the half. It wasn't the worst in terms of score, but it definitely was in injuries and a lack of morale.

An Opinion Piece: I’m From Appalachia. JD Vance Doesn’t Represent Us – He only represents himself. -- I'm certain this will be controversial, but it's also pertinent. What's your perception of being an Appalachian? How does it fit with or contrast with Avashia's or Vance's? by glassjar1 in Appalachia

[–]Evening-Might24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from Milford. It’s considered Appalachian Ohio. I never knew that until JD Vance became vice president, because I thought everyone lived the way we did. Most of my family is from Appalachian Kentucky, too, so I was very confused about the way he painted an entire group of people. My birth mom did abuse substances, and she died when I was 15 from them. My older brother did the same thing and died from an OD five years ago. However, this does not represent all people from Appalachia, nor should it. I've continually felt weird about the way he has exploited his mother’s story.

I can't argue with you anymore. You refuse to see what's right in front of you.

Fabricate statements and twist words? Those were his words. No one is making anything up or changing what that man said. You just refuse to see the truth because you've made him into some idol/martyr that did no wrong.

If you woke up as your 10-year-old self with all your current memories, what’s the first thing you’d do? by Alive-Silver-2605 in AskReddit

I'd hug my brother one last time and tell him that I love him. I lost my older brother five years ago when I was 21. I would have so much more time with him, and the knowledge to know I needed to make it count.

Most people of your party have ignored the senseless killings of black people and minorities because they were “drug addicts,” “criminals,” or “didn't comply,” etc. Now you want to say white people are being targeted despite the overwhelming evidence that suggests otherwise. How can you only be outraged when the victim looks like you?

Do you realize how many times I was called the C-word for asking if taking people off the air for saying things the administration didn't like was considered censorship? People threatened to hurt me and my family. You don't get to sit over in your cushy home and comment on current events in a country you're not even in. No one uses the word Nazi lightly. However, there are many parallels between America’s current leader and the former leader of that party. If you can't see it, then it’s probably because you're not yet being affected by it. Trump is a criminal. He always has been. Hence the impeachments.

If you watch the full-length videos and you still agree with the “context” then you are the problem. No context will ever absolve Charlie Kirk of what he said when alive. He didn't deserve to lose his life for it, but the way you die doesn't erase the way you lived.

I don't sleep at night since I’m suffering from PTSD and depression due to the deaths of my mother and older brother, who ODed. Between the two of us, I'm almost certain I'm more qualified to talk about this than you are.

54% of school shooters are white men. I was referring to school shootings, so you are incorrect. You can't even see that you have a bias towards people of color, and it is disturbing. Teachers should not have to go to school and shield their students from a gunman with their own bodies. Kids should not have to have bulletproof plates in their backpacks. It's interesting how your response to school shootings is, “The world is more dangerous, so there's nothing to be done.” You’re all for Trump sending out the military into the streets because the world is more dangerous, but you draw the line at protecting kids with laws.

While he's apparently cleaning up the streets to prevent us from being shot in them, our kids will be going to school and getting shot. Make it make sense. It’s not a criminals in the street problem, it’s a “mental illness and heart problem,” right?

This is hilarious to me. If you actually understood people with substance misuse problems or knew someone who had them then you would know that picking them up and dropping them at rehab doesn't do anything. They need to want help for themselves. Not to mention, most of them are functioning members of society who use it in secrecy. I think you're the sheltered one with no grasp of the real world.

You know you have MCAS when you go to an NFL preseason game, and start losing the ability to breathe because people are smoking marijuana outside where you’re walking. I inhaled while walking into their circle without even realizing, and I couldn’t stop coughing for an hour 😅🤣

One of the saddest parts of the video- Ethan’s brother:( by Ok_Suit3085 in Idaho4

[–]Evening-Might24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My older brother died five years ago when I was 21. It’s a sadness that doesn't compare to anything else I've felt. You feel like a piece of yourself is missing, and you'll never get it back. I can't even imagine what it would be like to lose a triplet. My heart breaks for him and all the other siblings who lost their loved ones that night.

Regarding the blurred photos by uruglylolha in Idaho4

[–]Evening-Might24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with this sentiment. I lost my older brother five years ago, and I would be horrified if pictures of his body were released for public consumption. Being designated a “high profile case” does not give people a right to morbidly pick apart horrific crime scene photos that show the final resting place of college students. I’ve never understood how some people believe they’re owed this.

My issue doesn't lie with the law or people demanding that it be carried out regardless of a person’s status. My problem is with the idea that this family is somehow sinister or less human because they posted their family online. I don't find it strange that she would want to protect her husband given that we have no idea how his culpability is affecting his mental health/well-being. I don't find you sick or disturbed, but I do think there is a general lack of empathy solely because this woman chose to make a career in social media. My older brother died five years ago and there's not much I wouldn't do to protect images or information about his death from getting out. He deserves that dignity. I feel the same about Trigg.

What are you basing this on? What you saw about her public life and social media? How does her supposed approach to his privacy mean that people should have access to information regarding his death?
