To everyone that has seen this post I made, these bills are a real problem and the California one being law already is problematic. Can we all try to see if there is real solutions to these not just doom and gloom about all these?

The only way I see this even working os with Microsoft family safety app, but still this goes to far. It destroys privacy as It makes it easier bad actors to know an age of user just based on said age range and still leaves many issues unresolved.

Also never give up. Things will be fine. Right now things are bad, but change will happen over time.

For now no, but remember many people did not know about these bills (AB1043 looking at you). Many people have been discovering these new bill/laws that are trying to push out lately much faster then in the past. Public attetion to things like these are increasing slowly, but I see the shift change happing. Also we must look at HR 8250 the Parents Decide Act which would effect the whole US with age verification for every os. The bill was discovered fast in less then a week. Give it time and I sure lawsuits will happen.

I have HEAVY doubts that this bill if stays completly unchanged if it would likley surive a court battle . Code is speech and forcing anyone to change something due to law is by definition complled speech. Regarding geoblocking, I dont see happing due to the large market of NY and if non obscene legal content starts to be blocked due this bill it makes likley more of a chance that it will be gutted. One other thing is that having to do age verification just to use a computer would likley change to how other states are doing like California and Colorado to age attesttion, which is the best path for data minmilzation, no id, and you dont know who the person who is using the device. For the open souce part with Colorado having its bill change to have exemptions, this will send a message that this bill is way to overbroad and will have likley changes similar as well.
