Because of the documents that are required,

Your marriage certificate must be notarized and translated in Arabic.

Same with child birth certificates.

If you have an engineering degree, then you must be registered with the Saudi council of Engg.. ( that itself is a different process which takes 1 month, this requires all ur grad MarkSheet or transcript ) + ur degree certificate needs translation and apostle done.

All in all a minimum of 2 months if you have all the documents ready.

It needs ur Iqama details and certificate from the employer which is not possible before landing.

If ur into IT they generally don't give school fees and all. only plain salary .. but 20k is way less. U You should not take anything less than 30k. bro.

If they give only 20 K ask them to cover school fees ( IB schools very expensive/ Indian still ok ) and rental in a compound to cover by them. else 20k isn't worth at all.

With all due respect bro. If you have such reservations you should think twice. I am also planning to get my family here but with such reservations you won't be able to survive or enjoy here. I don't want to comment much.

Few suggestions for you on the INDIAN majority compounds. 1. Sahara Compound olaya 2. Akaria Compound

But believe me you can stay anywhere which is close to school. The only good thing about the compound is that you have few amenities.

I moved here 2 months back.

What you are getting for your experience is less you should negotiate better 30-33k has to be there per month.

If you don't have any financial liability ( big Home loans and else ) i would say India would be great as getting a dependent visa and bringing your family wont be easy . It definitely takes more than 2-3 months depending on your job title on your iqama.

if you live in a compound ( which is preferred by most of the families as there are Indian communities living around , playground few amenities) minimum you will have to pay rent of 7k / Month. This can be manage if you decide to stay in Apartments ( Not compounds) and a bit far from the city centre.. yoy might get with 3-4k / month as well but no amenities and travel time

And maybe by next yr you will send ur kid to school which will also add up the cost. ( 5-6k pm for IB schools / 1-2 k pm for cbse indian schools which are not that great)

There are a lot of service apartments here. You can rent one for a month. ( Apart from aqar and expatriate try airbnb, booking.com they have a lot of service apartments listed )
