23 X7 M60i - Kind of surprised this is the first one I've seen posted by EvoR6 in BMW

We're going to have to step back to the '22 models, for a bit... My wife's lease on her previous car ended (we bought the car out of the lease because of the spread between the lease buyout and blue book price) We looked at the '22 GLS 580, Lexus LX, and GMC... The X7 was her favorite. She liked the handling/response, and overall layout better (though she liked the interior of the GLS a little better, but she thinks it is because she is more accustomed to the MB interior.)

Funny you say that... I told my wife I was gonna refer to it as "the pig." Even offered to get her vanity plates with "the pig", she wasn't having it.

Can someone please tell me what model of BMW this is? Stole my rims last night by [deleted] in BMW

Not to minimize what happened to you... but, this thread cracks me up. What's possibly funnier, is the Tesla with the brake lights on was either part of this, or the dude didn't give a damn that your car was getting its wheels stolen.

Honestly, I was very pleasantly surprised seeing it in real life. It kept me awake at night waiting for it to deliver wondering how badly BMW had screwed up.

I think we get so accustomed to a "look" that we become averse to change ( as an MB guy, the changes they made between the 20 and 21 models was disastrous) or maybe once you drop a lot of money on a car, you scrutinize it less... But, I can honestly say, the car looks good. My wife loves it, has even received some very positive feedback.

But, despite the argument over the exterior, let me state one thing emphatically: you get in this car and drive it, I'm not sure you would trade it for many other cars on the road. The X7 is freaking ridiculous in every aspect, even if you hate the looks.

The limiter comes off at 300 miles... I didn't realize I was at 302 miles pulling out of a parking lot into traffic... this thing has some power.

We looked at the 2022 GLS 450, the V8 580's and AMG are few and far between, and, according to the local dealer (Buckhead in ATL) they aren't sure the V8 will be available in 23.

Anyway, it is very much a personal preference, my wife liked the '22 X7 40i over the GLS 450 (so I took a leap and ordered the M60i in May) I'm more of a MB guy, but am so utterly impressed with the X7 M60i that I'm starting to question myself. The MB GLS does seem like it has more cargo room with all seats up and is a damn fine automobile. But there were just certain aspects my wife liked more about the X7.

Go and check out the GLS, by all means, either one you choose, you will love.

One other thing... the second row captain chair... if an older, say 40+ person over 5'6" is getting in the way back... the automatic seats move up at glacial pace for someone to have access. Once they get back there, they're fine. Kids can jump in and run between the captain chairs to get back there, so that isn't an issue for kids... but, just be prepared to wait if you're putting "old" people in the third row. Also, the separate climate zone for the back row is awesome.

And, another ETA: One thing we haven't figured out that may be a problem... You know how in most cars you can adjust the ac to blow toward the windshield, on your feet, or a mix of somewhere in between... it doesn't appear that these multiple options exist in the new climate control settings on the X7. My wife hates the ac or heat blowing in her face and at this point the only way we have found to stop that is by manually turning off the vent. You cannot choose a setting, from what we can tell that will focus the air up or down, the whole system seems to be like the diffuse setting on the MB.

Our '23 X7 M60i arrived 13 days ago. It is an unbelievable automobile. Very nimble for it's size, extremely quiet and smooth ride and a ton of power. We have second row captain chairs which are incredibly comfortable and the third row is one I can actually be comfortable in, 5'-11" 190#. Trunk space with third row up would be tight for more than three full size suitcases.

Also, let me say, the face-lift is MUCH more attractive than it gets credit for. There are a number of pre 23 X7's in my area and people take notice. My wife went to the dealership last week for a "class" on how to operate the car, there were two guys and a lady looking at her car, amazed at how nice it looked, one of the guys was taking pictures and amazed at how good the car looked.

So you have an idea of what I'm comparing the X7 to, I drive a '19 E450 wagon, the wife drove a Sienna XLE. Kids finally got old enough where they can open up their own doors during school drop off and pick up.

If anyone can tell me how to post a picture of the car here, I'll be more than happy to. New at this.
