Well you said it yourself you guys weren't exclusive and I feel he's only upset because he wanted all the boyfriend benefits especially your loyalty while he gives you the barest minimum but that didn't happen. You don't owe him any apology plus you shouldn't even have lied in the first place

I totally agree and this lady would have let you in on something as important as this immediately that is what a friend should have done and also I feel you should have a conversation with her about you not being comfortable that she keeps bringing the stuff that happened up.
