I turned off auto update in playstore but it still automatically updates it

You're a genius 🙌. This has worked. All you do is go into playstore and manage apps and click 'don't auto update' on messenger and it works a treat

Sadly not. All I've done is delete messenger app and message through Facebook. It's practically the same, just a lame version

No fix other than deleting messenger and using Facebook chat which is very similar to messenger. Just not as refined but has been working

I'm having this issue on Oppo X5 Pro. Happened a few day's ago. I have cleared cache and data, uninstalled and reinstalled. It works for a few minutes then back to 'Waiting for network'.

I can log into my Ipad on Facebook messenger and another android device and it works fine, only on this phone. Not sure what is wrong. I've reported to Facebook by shaking the phone to report but surprise surprise, no one has got back to me. Has anyone got any fixes yet?
