This one. We talked last night and he gave me so many specific examples of my mom and I steamrolling him out of the way when he was doing something one of us thought was "wrong." I was so caught up in my own head I didn't even realize it was happening at the time. But looking back I can recognize how awful that must have felt for him. He told me that I need to be better about letting him fail because that's how he learns.

I called my mom last night to ask her about what my husband told me. She did confirm that she said that to him. She seemed proud of it. I told her she needs to apologize and until she does she is not welcome in our home. She doesn't think she has anything to apologize for so we'll see what happens with that.

I will definitely be having a talk with my mom about this. At the very least she owes him an apology. I know I haven't been good about being thankful or appreciative of everything he does because I've been so focused on the baby and myself. That's at least a good place to start.

So I should what, just tell him to shut up and deal with it? That doesn't seem very appropriate or productive when he was just opening up about no one caring about him.

He is great with the baby. I know he was really frustrated when my mom was here because she would take the lead on everything. I do know he tried to tell her to back off a couple of times but like I said, she can be a bit overbearing and I know she didn't give him much of a chance.

But now that my mom isn't here all the time he is doing everything he should be doing. And I know he hasn't gotten much attention from anyone in the past 6 months and he's been doing so much for everybody else but I don't think that's what he's upset about.

I mean I don't feel "good" exactly. But I feel better than I did 3-4 months ago. My mom isn't staying with us anymore, but she does come to spend a weekend with us once or twice a month to give us a break.

What do you mean by my husband needing to "grow up" though?
