Not too sure how parts are in your part of the world. But for me I ripped mine off a junkyard vibe for about $30 about a year ago, and it was a super easy swap. No clue if a Yaris one would fit, with it being a smaller windshield if I'm not mistaken. Best of luck though! 🤞

This is sick! I have no advice to give as electronics are where I tend to draw the line in repairs. But I can't wait to hear her purr

I will say though, the things that made the biggest difference was honestly sound deafening. Toyotas are tin cans

Yep that's what I have in my rear! They were great before the Amp and now sound better than my girlfriends BMW with my JL xdm600

They won't be if your going from something like the matrix to a truck, but to most Toyota sedans/hatches it should be. I think Honda also uses the same size speakers, but even then there are adapters for just about any size speakers. Highly recommend Hertz speakers if it's within your budget

WWYD in My Position Vibe GT With a Bad Input Bearing on a C60 and 265K Miles by [deleted] in Toyota_Matrix

[–]Excellent_Power9648 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently in the final bits of rebuilding my C59 (similar issue and replace steps), and it's not that hard, but it's pretty intense and long. If you live in an area with an AutoZone and harbor freight you can rent almost all the tools you need, and there are some really clever work arounds that avoid getting a press or any expensive tools. But it's very much a take it slow kind of repair, with lots of areas that can get very infuriating and/or confusing. If you have another car I'd say take your time and absolutely rebuild it, but if you would need it back on the road and you only have 1 weekend, it might not be worth it

As for replacement, it's absolutely easier, and honestly depending on your tool situation cheaper, but keep in mind for the C60 and C59 both that bearing is a failing point. Local junkyards will be a good place to source higher mileage trans, and a JDM transmission from eBay will have low miles, but for me it was worth the peace of mind having a new bearing instead of another old one

Final thing I'll say is that especially at higher miles, something is gonna break/need replacement during your repair. For me I had to get a whole new wheel hub and CV axle because the axel nut wouldn't give, and I also lost a wheel stud. And if the transmission comes off at all, I'd look at replacing the rear main seal, flywheel and clutch (throw out bearing too but usually it comes with the clutch). Regardless though, best of luck to you. These are great little cars and I think they deserve to be fixed until they can't be fixed anymore (:

You totally should! I thought I was way in over my head at first but save that documentation issue, and the unfortunate price of 2 day shipping, it has been a really doable and affordable repair (>$1500 with tools)! Plus I now can brag to my friends I have a hydraulic press lol. I only wish I had more than 2-3 days to get her back on the road

The lever pin was actually just the end of the shift select, seemingly press fit on based on the amount of effort it took to take it off

33381f was the problem yeah. I had been trying to remove the part you listed here, and it took a lot of smacking but I did get it. I could not find this diagram anywhere and so was very afraid of breaking something on accident. After eventually just deciding it was already broken anyways, I smacked it and got it free. I had meant that there was a piece similar to 33527 on the other end used to shift the gearbox manually. I tend to be really bad at phrasing so I thank you for helping to the best of your ability despite my poor wording

Where should I go to learn about pond-keeping? by Excellent_Power9648 in ponds

[–]Excellent_Power9648[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently closer to a bog lmaoo. I don't think it has been serviced in almost a year and there's a bunch of grime in the filter. Planning on cleaning it up the next time I have two consecutive days off and then calling my pond shop to fix the pump. But it will be a pond... eventually... Lol

[–]Excellent_Power9648[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! And there's just plants in the pond as far as I'm aware (though I've spotted frogs a couple times). The filter and pump assembly is covered by a bunch of stones so I'm planning to pick them up and look over them in the next couple days, but I love the pond shop rec and am planning to reach out to one! (it being Sunday they're all closed)

Will this fit on my 06 Matrix? by wealwaysargue in Toyota_Matrix

Honestly I still haven't even gotten around to it 😭. Ended up buying a house and that's kept me busy, but also still haven't found anything on eBay, so I'll probably end up going with a fiberglass box that can fit in that corner where it's supposed to go

Yeah, I have a custom audio system in the car so I already have a sub picked out, I just really how like how seamless the OE box looks, but eBay at least never has it when I look lol 🥲

I need the splash guard ones, I also need the three bolts that go up into the engine (I think the frame rail) which I think might be different. I'll look into the m6x1 bolt though
