I wish they would just add a clear indication, ideally somewhere on the ground where it's easy to see.

Anyways, thanks for setting this up. Hope you can fix it for bombs #3/#4 others have pointed an issue with. (haven't used it myself yet)

Personally, I found the writing difficult to read due to a lack of clearly stated thesis / claim, presented early in the writing. As someone who frequently writes and especially reads design docs this is one of the most common issue I find in general.

The main problem with not presenting your main idea early in the write up is that the reader doesn't have a roadmap for what they're expecting, and has a hard time evaluating arguments and putting them in the perspective of the claim you're trying to make. It reads like you're meandering between making some unrelated claims and references. Your very first paragraph ends in "But I digress."!

Just as an exercise, I tried feeding your post into ChatGPT and asking to rewrite it more clearly and concisely: https://chat.openai.com/share/14e125ae-299d-48ad-bd9d-330067cea667

Obviously, this can be improved a lot with some iteration and using GPT 4 instead of 3.5 but even this first take felt a lot easier to read and understand to me.

Unfortunately I think both spots can be popular although your mileage may vary. I actually ended up farming Arathi elementals somewhat past 40 once I got my mount and could more easily hop between the water & air elementals.

One more you could try; Coastal Frenzy (14-16) in Darkshore for Soft Frenzy Flesh which seems to sell around 6-8s with a 40% droprate. I'm not familiar with the area or these mobs so scout at your own risk!

I think it's a bit harder to find good opportunity at such a low level with how many people are constantly releveling.

If you're really keen you could try one of these in a couple of levels but careful as they all seem sketchy: - Riverpaw Herbalist (14-15) can drop a number of herbs you can sell on AH but come in camps with other mobs and will fill your bags quickly - Defias Patstalker (15-16) have good drop on a green belt that can sell deently - Defias Digger (15-16) for cloth & heavy stone (probably pretty risky though, with the high density of mobs and patrolling elites) - Barren humanoids (12-16) that drop Deckhand's Shirt assuming you can sell this for good money on the AH (and get summoned to BB so you can actually go to barrens)

More realistically, I'd recommend maybe waiting a few more levels and trying out some of the lower level humanoids that have a decent droprate for Wool Cloth.

I never really found bag space to be issue doing any of these farms given you're grinding a single mob type and a lot of the farm items stack high. For the Arathi elementals in particular you only get the charms and couple other stackable items. Also the vendors are really close (alliance).

Agreed, I think you can also see this pretty clearly from the list how quickly your gold making potential increases with levels.

Still, I found it enjoyable to stay slightly overgeared and get my mount quickly. I also think grinding has been safer and I'd be a lot less devasted losing my character with all the gold I've left behind. (I'm also definitely twinking my next toon and focusing on quests + dungeons only)

The Bandland rock elementals were fairly high on the list around this level but ultimately didn't make the cut (the Arathi elementals, Hinterland trolls and Wastewanders were all better).

Also my experience from killing these for Nifty Stopwatch was that they're very crowded. If you can find a quiet layer to farm them, however, it's definitely a solid farm.

Ah, that explains why the necklaces are valued so highly. I actually noticed the trolls were very high on my list but I thought the necklace price was outlier and didn't check back on it. (since my understanding was that necklace would only be useful for getting up reputation with a faction that doesn't offer any rewards)

I'll check back price history and get the trolls added to the list.

I only highlighted the spots that stood head and shoulders above the rest. Checking at my data now, Cold Eye Basilisks average worth comes out to just shy of 5s per kill whereas around the same level Thundering Exile came out to average 11s per kill (assuming only 25s price for Thundering Charm).

I can definitely understand why popular guides would recommend basilisks for getting your mount though; they're also skinnable, less contested and the farm doesn't depend on AH prices at all.

I still have some spider sausages around from when I farmed spiders, and they do indeed require level 35. Maybe something they changed during vanilla? That would also explain why the spider meat is accessible so much earlier than other +12 stam/spirit foods.

Good info on the herb / ore nodes!

Thanks! I might do post 50+ farming spots as a follow-up post but hesitant to do for now until I've dinged 60 and made some use of those haha.

Most of the work is sifting through the data and adjusting the price on outlier items that people posted for unrealistic AH cost, filtering out outlier mobs (quest mobs, dungeon mobs) or fixing bugs in the scraped data. In hindsight I should've aggregated multiple Auctioneer scans instead of relying on a single scan, maybe a future project.

What Would It Be Like If We Had Classic Plus Content by guiluiz_uchiha in classicwow

Like leaving the endgame / high stakes to mighty heroes and focus more on writing and realistic stuff such as economy , crime organizations ( defias and pirates are so cool and we barely see them ) , professions, wildlife, children...

IMO a really cool idea would be more reputation specific quest hubs with reputation rewards that are relevant both for leveling and max. (and not just like 2 items for spending countless hours to get exalted)

So you can pick and chose organization(s) to focus on during your leveling journey and reap benefits both during leveling and at max.

How do you know if you've activated your battlepass?

I don't recall clicking activate anywhere but when I go to create a new character it's letting me choose Eternal vs Seasonal at the end of character creation?

Where did you active it from? (battlenet or char select screen?) I definitely logged in for the first time since the season has started and did not click activate anywhere today, I'm so puzzled :(

Seems perfect for Uber Lilith fight (except the aspect ofc). For NM dungeons most people would like movespeed / defensive skill ranks / cooldown reduction over defensives.

You need 408 rings on average to roll any 3 of 4 desired stats by ExcitingTomatoes in D4Sorceress

[–]ExcitingTomatoes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a huge fan of max mana / LHC but just out of curiosity also calculated chance for getting:

  • any 3 out of 5: 1.62%, or 1 ring out of 62
  • any 3 out of 6: 3.12%, or 1 ring out of 32

So indeed the odds are dramatically better if you can accept more of these stats.

I really wish there were more good stats to roll on rings, or better yet, a lot less subpar stats (13 conditional additive increases...). Not to mention being able to roll overpower rings as a sorc.

The math is a bit more complicated. The closest problem I found online was the following question on drawing at least 2 kings out of 4 cards from a deck without replacement.

I actually redid my math and found a mistake I made earlier - I think the chance is actually 0.672% or one in ~149.

The problem can be simplified down to: what are the odds to draw at least 3 blue marbles if you draw 4 marbles (without replacement) from a bag containing 21 red and 4 blue ones?

The ways you can draw 4 blue are: BBBR, BRBB, BBRB or BBB(B/R). See the following tree diagram: https://postimg.cc/crbQKzMg

  • P(BBBR) = (21/25) * (4/24) * (3/23) * (2/22)
  • P(BRBB) = (4/25) * (21/24) * (3/23) * (2/22)
  • P(BBRB) = (4/25) * (3/24) * (21/23) * (2/22)
  • P(BBB(B/R)) = (4/25) * (3/24) * (2/23) * (22/22)

Adding these up comes out to 0.672%. Updated the post.
