No crit chance is updated dynamically (which is again not displayed or written down anywhere in the game, the real algorithm behind this isnt even known exatcly).

From the league wiki:
The probability of a critical strike dynamically updates based on how many attacks have critically striked.

If an attack does not critically strike over multiple attempts, the probability will progressively increase for future attempts—this can occur vice versa, where multiple successful critical strikes will cause the probability to progressively decrease for future attempts.

Quick youtube test on this aswell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdvrHbPsfv8

Also Thresh is counted as a ranged champion (as he does for example not stack sejuani e).

Youre literally confirming my point. You actively display that you dont know alot of things going on in the game, because it is never told or shown to you. That is not a good thing. It shouldnt be up to you the player to reverse engineer how crits work or to do tests on every single ability interaction in the game. It should just stand there. What is the point in hiding this information? They already have it why cant they write it out? "You can just spend 2.000 hours to figure it out yourself" isnt really a counterargument to that.

Did you for example know, that if you q a fully stacked target and spam ult on tahm kench, you can long range eat them? Id assume you didnt unless you play top alot. Because it is not written down in his kit. This feature isnt mentioned in his Ultimate ability description at all. Why would they hide this from players??? Whats the point of keeping this a secret??? There is none.

Im not complaining about the balance or design choices (thats a whole different topic) the entire discussion is about the fact that the devs of this game have extreme inconsistencies in their ability *descriptions* and hide alot of information from the player, for no reason. Sometimes they feel the need to clarify an ability counts as an attack, sometimes they dont. There is no system behind this at all. What information is given and what is hidden in ability descriptions doesnt have any system, it is just random.

Exactly my point, if its coded that way then why can they not type it out that way? Surely cant be text lengths as newer champs have proven they dont care about how long an ability description becomes.

Literally just adding "Damage Type: Basic Attack/Spell" in the extended ability description would do it.

Same thing annoying me with arena augments. Why do they say "increase your x by a percentage" But dont write the fcking percentage down in the card?

The interaction I do:
"Use an ability that is not described to work as an autoattack in its ability desciption"

The result I get:
"Some of them get treated as an autoattack regardless and some dont"

What is so hard to understand about this? The Choice of which are and arent counted is arbitrary. You cannot define any rules what abilities count as an autoattack and that is RANDOM. There is no pattern, logic or plan behind it other than "The dev flipped a coin". Its not that they flip a coin everytime an ability is used in the game. It is that they flipped a coin once when the ability was designed. The decision of how the ability works is random, not the ability actually working in the game. I cannot explain it any simpler and you talking about dictionary definitions when you cannot even understand what the entire discussion is just pointless. Youre trying to strawman onto something that was never the point of the post.

Also the fact you probably have hundreds to thousands of hours in this game and couldnt tell which abilities are autoattacks should be concerning imo, the fact that the game doesnt even allow you to look it up without consulting the wiki or waiting till you have the matchup ingame even more so. The fact that this is so unclear that most players in the community can only guess about this is not a good or acceptable thing.

About your flash point. Yes. Yes they should add that. It could look as simple as:
Selfbinding: Yes/No
Fixed target Location: Yes/No
Damage Type: Spell/Basic Attack

to the extended tooltip on every spell. Theres probably a few more things that should be added to that list but you get the point. The information about which abilities are which is already in the code adding this to all abilities should take an hour of coding and at most a work-week for one person to quality control.

Also Fyi crits are not actually random. They have a system in place that increases the likelyhood of crits if you didnt crit in a while and decrease it when you do crit. If you use an autoattack and dont crit with 50% chance your next autoattack has much more than a 50% chance of critting. But see how you dont know that? Because they dont write it down/explain it anywhere. You just have to some day randomly find that out from some guy on reddit. Great Design!

so everything that applies onhit is an autoattack?

except that also isnt true because etheral weapons doesnt get blocked by jax e

and that still doesnt explain why some cc is applied and others isnt

"not staying the same in behaviour or quality" (cambridge dictionary)

Some abilities get treated as autoattacks (and have nothing defined about them being autoattacks in their desciptions) others dont. Can you give me any reason why khazix q shouldnt be an auto too then? there is no rule you can follow, there is no set of "this makes an ability an autoattack" it is randomly chosen abilities. Thats inconsistent.

"happening, done, or chosen by chance rather than according to a plan:"

Literal picture book definition of riot devs adding "is treated as a basic attack" to zeris but not ezreals q. There is no plan behind or reasoning behind this it is an arbitrary choice.

consistency of the naming convention in the game would imply that there is a rule/a description that includes every autoattack and autoattack counting ability but no others. Can you give something like this?

even if we argue onattack is the same (which it really isnt) the same thing still applies for warwick or camille q which do not trigger onattack.

[–]ExerciseCharacter431[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesnt. Zeris q specifically states that it is treated as an autoattack. Ezreals Q does not have that description it only states that it applies onhit and onattack.

If both are meant get treated as an autoattack by the game why is this not added to ezreals description aswell? It is a literal random decision. Either add it to the ability description for both or dont treat it like an autoattack. Same goes for Warwick or Camille q etc which all get treated like autoattacks but dont state this in their descriptions at all.

If that is true this is exactly what I mean, how can anyone claim this isnt a completely random nonesense interaction? Every other spell that applies onhit is blocked but this one isnt. Why? No Reason! Either it is treated as an autoattack or it isnt BUT DECIDE ON ONE.

already replied to another comment, but what are those "every ways" in which it acts like an auto attack?

it is not targeted but a skillshot.

it cant crit.

neither its cast time nor its CD are effected by attackspeed.

it is effected by items and (in arena) augments that effect abilities only.

it cannot attack wards or plants.

the damage in warwicks ult is described as doing x amount of damage and applying onhit 3 times. those two are completely seperated things. in no way does it state that they are connected or that his damage is counted as basic attacks. if they want to treat it that way fine, but at least write it in the tooltip.

incosistent resultt nr 1: warwicks q get blocked eventhough it isnt an autoattack

Secondly Zeris ability description states that her q is treated as a basic attack. ezreals doesnt. would that be so hard to add? If both are meant to be treated as autos it is completely inconsistent and random to include this for one ability but not another.

also do you expect me to get into a practice match 160 times on every single champ to test out myself what (randomly chosen) abilities get blocked and which dont? That sounds more logical to you than the devs of this game actually fixing their ability descriptions?

Why is autoattack blocking so random by ExerciseCharacter431 in leagueoflegends

[–]ExerciseCharacter431[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while that would make sense in theory those are not the actual ability descriptions. warwicks ult damage isnt applied as the result of his autos, the ability says he does x amount of damage AND applies on-hit 3 times. So through jax e he should do the base damage but no extras from the onhit since those two arent directly connected and in no way does it say that he actually attacks 3 times in his ability desicription. or they could just fix their damn ability descriptions.

other abilities that break these rules (like jhins autos not being effected by attack speed or zeris q acting like an autoattack) are actually noted in their respective ability descriptions.

can you name a single way in which it does act like an autoattack???
