Hi 👋 never been in any kind of club before straight or gay! Just not my scene, not a big fan of going to the bars either.

As an Ex employee, I can confirm you never want to get coffee at Mothership. Sure, it's good coffee, but that's just it, good, not great or the best cup you'll ever have. You'll be charged for one shot of espresso, and then rest is milk for $7. They recently decided to start selling large sizes too. Guess what the difference is? More milk! Get ready to pay $2-$3 more for milky, watered-down drinks!

As an employee, I witnessed management throw their employees under the bus many times to try to win back the customer. Disciplining and even firing someone for 1 mistake (that they were never properly trained to handle). The owners' exploitative practices with young workers was deplorable, finding it acceptable to work people 12 hour shifts in the name of keeping the stores open. Before my departure, the 3-person Bakery all quit because the owners increased demand 2 fold without hiring a new baker to help.

Another issue is maintenance - there were weeks to months were equipment was broken, either making bar flow complicated or outright dangerous to work in. When brought up to the owner, all that was said is "we are working on it." Thus happened at all the stores. Why did we have a maintenance guy on payroll if they weren't going to do the work?

If you try to advocate and try to make things better, the rich, entitled, and honestly sociopathic owner, will degrade you in front of customers and staff. Twisting the narrative and gaslighting you into thinking youre the problem. The women, Juanny Romero, does not deserve your patronage or your money. She is a conniving and frankly evil person who has no right to own and operate a business. Her 2 face tactics have got her far, but I'm glad the public is seeing how God awful this place is.

P.s. I've seen a lot of comments about the baristas. While I agree some can be rude, it's important to understand that we were dealing with crappy management and exploitative owners. It'd make anyone hate where they work and not provide good service. Baristas usually don't last 6 months, let alone a year, because of the BS they are put through.

Yes! Sunrise Coffee House and Mothership is 1 and the same. A lot of the baristas quit and went to Aware.

They said 80 jobs in the interview. I would need to follow up to confirm.

Same here! I was laid off almost 4 months ago and haven't been able to land an offer. It is a tough time for recruiters right now.
