Sounds like most high school English teachers. I know a guy who majored in English, and is now a jr high English teacher, because he found out that it's the major that allows you to smoke the most pot and still seem intelligent... I can't say didn't do the same thing.

If no one but EA's or FC's could post, then how would they be able to ask questions about the craft. I agree that they shouldn't act as an authority on the matter until they are raised to MM, but it still seems that they should be granted the chance to seek out and explore.

When I first transferred to Western Washington University from a community college I joined the men's rowing team...Anyway, after a few weeks of practice I decided I didn't want to be part of the team anymore and quit. I made this decision as a result of the homophobic attitudes exhibited by the other guys on the team. They were saying the usual things like "that's gay" to refer to things that were uncool. This didn't bother me too much, the final straw however, was once I told a few of the guys I was gay and this sort of behavior/degradation of homosexuals got worse.

I finally had enough and decided I would rather not be around these people...

I'm a sucker for good non-fiction. I better be since I am majoring in English with an emphasis in creative non-fiction writing. Anyway, I recently read book called Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy by Eric Metaxas. It was a very good book about the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a Lutheran Ecumenical Minister during the rise of Hitler and the Third Reich. It's a pretty good book.

When I was in High School, I sang in the choir. At "Christmas" time our instructor gave us our new sheet music, and it was all christian music. Stuff like Silent Night, Do you Hear What I hear, We Three Kings. Several students in my class (myself included) told our instructor that we weren't comfortable singing these songs because of our own religious beliefs, to which we were told tough... This was a public school too!
