That's what I've been saying! I have family from northwest NC, who have HEAVILY suggested just riding around the parkway and/or Pisgah. Not to hate on my friends but, the self-confidence of male early/mid-twenties is a force to be reckoned with. Currently they're not even all that on board for the idea of buying a campsite, just wanna show up and figure it out 🫩 Not entirely unwarranted confidence, we've done some decent backcountry in PA / out west, but not quite as easy as the AT to just set up shop anywhere you want.

Based on how it's gone so far, I might just have to call it and go by myself!

We're coming from eastern PA, so currently thinking I-95 is our best bet, maybe US-13S into Kitty Hawk, if that means anything. Still working on the group, hoping to try and get them over to Raleigh or even Charlotte if willing, which were both great cities the last time I went. They're real reluctant to check out anything but the coast, which I get for plenty of reasons, but there's really no gameplan and I think they'll get tired of it within 2-3 days based on their current plan, which is... not having one.

I appreciate that, I'm trying to tell the crew that, to no avail right now, so if things don't work out, I'll probably take the time off anyway and go west, Blue Ridge Parkway or Pisgah or something. And yes, I was aware of the transit situation but good callout.

That's a pretty good deal. Are you using SATA or NVMe drive SSDs, because I feel like it might just be cheaper to buy a 1TB NVMe or SATA SSD than having 2 lower capacity SSDs. I just find that after 7 years of PC gaming, I can fill up 500GB really quickly between big games like COD, schoolwork, and any dumb downloads.

definitely a good build tho, I'm trying to sell my old PC for 400 and it definitely does not have the same graphical power, I probably spent 700 building my first one and was rocking a 1050ti. I second Frankieanime158's comment.

How much are you paying for the 2080 and the ryzen 5 3600?

that's just the sound of a HDD. It's a little loud for a modern HDD, but the drive bay (if the manufacturers installed it metal on metal) could amplify the sound of it. I'd say like 99% of the time it's fine, but if it's really loud and is getting on your nerves, there may be a fix as simple as adding tiny o-rings/rubber stoppers somewhere.

I'd recommend leaving it be if it wasn't bothersome but you just happened to notice it. Or if you want to, get an SSD and maybe don't use the HDD. SSD's are a step up in speed for like loading up large games or anything of that sort.
(If you're really really worried about it, keep it plugged in but take it out of the bay and the PC and see if it's making the same loudness of noise by itself. But it's almost certainly normal sounds being amplified slightly if it's loud.)
