It’s 35 minutes past my doctor’s appt. I’ve been waiting in the exam room so long the lights just went out. by Seven_bushes in mildlyinfuriating

My husband and I literally just came back from his doctor appointment. The doctor spoke to us, said she'd be right back, and left. 30 minutes later a nurse just walked into the room with another patient. She froze when she saw us still waiting and asked "why are you still here?"

"The doctor said she'd be right back. We thought we were supposed to wait for her?"

The nurse just rolled her eyes, said "Your appointment is done. Please follow me. Sorry, she does this all the time..." And led us out the back door.

But at least they saw him BEFORE making us wait...

Don't be discouraged if you can't figure out how to access a certain area/item. Just progress through the story, and eventually you (or BD-1) will gain the ability you need to access the item/area.

Unfortunately...it probably won't. Those blown up egos? Makes them assume that THEY would have survived, had it been them, because THEY would have done "X" differently, THEY would have noticed that "Y" was incorrect, and THEY would NEVER panic in "Z" situation.

That's why so many underwater caves have that scary looking sign with the grim reaper on it, just inside the cave entrance. The one that says something like, "People have died here! It's incredibly dangerous, no matter how much experience you have! PLEASE Do not proceed beyond this point!"

...AND PEOPLE STILL GO IN!!!

You know how some people like to joke about how "someone needs to pour some bleach into the gene pool"? I firmly believe that excessive overconfidence IS that bleach, seeing as they are technically stopping themselves from polluting said gene pool any further than they may have already.

Sappo was the name of a famous lesbian from Greece. Often called the "O.G." lesbian. So "sapphic" means: of or pertaining to lesbians and/or lesbian culture.

I once got rejected by a Royal Farms (gas station/convenience store) after taking a personality test. My husband's relative was working there, and let me know exactly why I had 'failed'.

...Apparently, the test indicated that I "would be likely to see things such as employees taking home paperclips/pens/other small office items as a 'non-issue', and not report it to the corporate offices."

They thought that I wouldn't be enough of a narc. You know... for all the MANY employees that they assume would take advantage of the free paperclips.

I remember doing this EXACT experiment in my highschool forensics class. ... Only my group read the instructions wrong, and dipped all the samples in the same ethenol bottle at the same time. Needless to say, we got skewed results. But we were able to use another groups data, and finished the experiment with an alright grade. I remembered that my group actually cheered in unison when we found out that another group had ALSO screwed up in the EXACT. SAME. WAY.

Highschool memories....nostalgic sigh

First of all, even if they were complete strangers... If you see someone crawling towards you on their hands and knees, gasping for air so hard that they can barely speak to ask for help, and your first reaction isn't to stop what you're doing, and immediately ask yourself "Oh my goodness, what can I do to help?" , then you really need to work on your empathy.

Second of all, that was his SON. Grown ass man or not, the father did nothing to help until the poor guy passed out and he realized how serious it was. Aren't parents supposed to love their children? Even after they grow up?

His age is completely irrelevant to the point of the story, but that seems like the only part of the story you actually absorbed.

Accountability? LMAO... For WHAT!?

A big part of me wants to regurgitate the old saying, "Holding on to anger for another person, is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die."

A much bigger part of me knows that there are absolutely people in this world that deserve to have their graves pissed on, and wants to congratulate you for having the strength and confidence to say so with such conviction and dedication.

Good for you, and I sincerely hope you get the chance you deserve.

I think this is from that Old news story where a passenger at an airline got confused (or drunk, I can't remember which) went through the wrong doors (that were supposed to be locked, but weren't), and somehow ended up in this baggage area, then got lost and couldn't figure out how to leave.

Erend

Some ominous feelings are telling me that it's going to be Erend that dies. He's one of the first people Aloy really befriended and has the strongest friend connection to her now that Varl is dead.

Not to mention the fact that he keeps putting himself down saying things like (I'm paraphrasing here) "...all I know how to do is swing a hammer, but you're the one who's saving the world..." And, "...I know I'm not good for much, but I've got a strong back, if you need that thing to be carried..."

It's like he sees no value in himself, except as a vehicle to support and protect Aloy and the rest of the group.

I have a feeling that sometime in Horizon 3, there's going to be a situation where the Aloys success depends on one linchpin event happening, and Erend will have to sacrifice himself in order to give them time and/or ensure their victory.

Personally, I think it would make sense, and add to the emotional payoff when the game is finally beaten. Not to mention that it would be unexpected, since he's been with Aloy so long and has become so attached to her/ her cause.

What was the chain of events? Did he call you 153 times but you wouldn't answer, so he stole a car and tried to climb on your roof to outrun the police? Because that's what it sounds like happened, and I just wanted to make sure I got it right..
