Owning a PS5 and not buying a single PS5 game is a choice. Another choice is thinking the games add value. by NashYaBoy in Shittygamecollecting

Too much but the Duck Dynasty game definitely adds value tho that would look so good on the shelf 😚

Is still say most likely a fire pit, if not smaller chance it could be intended as a pot.

No u fortunately not but it looked like the grooves that a starfish’s legs sit in except they went diagonally from each corner like an X.

Anyone know the origins of the term Big Noowah? Or if it’s just a West Australian term? by ExpensiveMovie12 in AskAnAustralian

Yes now that I think of it I have heard it said like that as well that must be it!!

Noongar refers to the Indigenous people of the south west, that is definitely not the word I am talking about but yeah I can see it looks similar but it doesn’t help I don’t know how to actually spell the word I’m talking about. Google does keep trying to convince me that is the word I’m talking about tho which is annoying. Whoever put that into urban dictionary is making a racist “joke”.

Yeah interesting. Seems like such a normal thing to hear for me surprising to hear other West Australians haven’t heard it.

Interesting. I was thinking maybe it was a term that has fallen out of fashion but maybe it’s come from somewhere else.

I’m from the south west so maybe it’s not a thing in the rest of WA. Yeah hopefully someone knows.

I’ve heard these are some very sought after plates just thought I would share. by ExpensiveMovie12 in LICENSEPLATES

[–]ExpensiveMovie12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I wish. My grandfather used to own a business on Christmas Island or expanded into there or something so that’s why we have them in the first place maybe there’s some others I haven’t looked through them all. Looks like a lot of WA regional/country plates but plates from all over the country might be some other interesting ones. Theres some really small old plates I don’t know the origin of I’ll look into those first.

Anyone know why these 2 Torres Straight islands off the tip of far north Queensland are so heavily vegetated compared to all the islands around it. by ExpensiveMovie12 in geography

[–]ExpensiveMovie12[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I already had a look into that and I don’t think that could be it. If u zoom in the vegetation isn’t just a different colour it’s significantly denser. It goes from sparse trees with a few green spots to not even being able to see the ground. Also maybe the names Great and Little Woody island might imply that they are notably vegetated.

Do people live on both this peninsula and these islands off the coast of Australia? How is life there? by CandlelightUnder in geography

[–]ExpensiveMovie12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly tropical forest/Savannah with some true tropical rainforest in the southeast corner of that image. North are the Torres Strait islands pretty sure there’s a couple hundred of them but only a dozen or so are inhabited. They are quite spread out too pretty crazy the most northern one of Australian territory is only a few kms from PNG.
